i am still waiting for the big jambox to become available, but from all the reviews i have read so far, they claim the bose soundlink to sound better than the big jambox, despite the fact that the big jambox is even 35% larger in overall volume.
i really love the soundlink although treble could sound a bit clearer, but for outside listening it is hard to beat at this size!

How is the sound compared to the BOSE portable speakers? My Jambox has been great for small classrooms. It is ideal for one table with up to ten or so people gathered round. I even took it to the beach, and it was audible, but not really capable outdoors. A friend brought his BOSE box, and it was more than sufficient for the two dozen or so partiers AND the neighboring couple of BBQs. I was impressed! I hate BOSE for their litigation and even suing reviewers who give them bad reviews. A bit like sue-crazy Monster Cable they are. Both engage in anti-competitive behavior.

So, please, Jambox, make this a real competitor to the BOSE boxes.

I do love the sound from my Jambox original (when it will pair). But will not be buying the new model. The original's pairing issues are beyond frustrating, and they are well documented (just google jambox pairing macbook) and the company refuses to address them. There is also an unchangeable, full volume "beep" every time you change the volume (regardless of what level you have the payback volume set) So, if you're listening to nighttime, mellow, quite music and you change the volume, and "BEEP." The net result is crazy cool (especially for the price) sound technology whose peripheral issues significantly detract from the experience. And customer service? Nope and nope. I'm mystified that reviewers never mention any of this stuff.

Thanks for the hand grab photo that's the most critical information IMO on how portable it still is with a boost in size (while the small one is beside it). Much more informative than other sites that only care about fancy photos.
