@DaymonH are you kidding me? ive been playing pc games from my couch for years. on a 50″. wireless mouse/keyboard/controller. its 2012 dude… its actually easier to play games on pc now.

I have been playing since ZXSpectrum, so what? That doesn’t make me an expert.
A basic 600 bucks PC will play Skyrim (tried it on my backup laptop that is 5 years old). You will even get the same visuals as on an xbox while using that lower end PC.

Few reasons why you want would want to play on a PC:

1. Patches, official and/or community made.
2. Mods (good luck wit the console in that department, Skyrim nexus anyone?)
3. Resolution. I jack up my Skyrim to 2560×1600 on my main rig and 1920×1080 on my living room media PC. Looks awesome at that resolution on a 52′ TV at 60 fps (fap, fap, fap…).
4. Texture resolution (you can get almost photorealistic textures in the game on a PC)
6. Viewing distance.
7. Mod tools. You can create your own content.

Once i switched to a PC from a console I never looked back.

Having been gaming since my old commodore 64, the xbox makes it nice and easy for my old ass. I dont have to worry about my pc specs to play a game let alone get a decent framerate. Having to run a boot disk i made on my old 66mhz (upgraded the processor from 25 which was pretty sweet) just to play ultima 7 along with updating my desktops graphics cards over the years has burnt me out on pc gaming personally. It just makes it soooooo much easier on the consoles. And i was anti console pro pc gaming for a looong time until my kids broke me down for our first 360.. Never looked back. I even loaded ubuntu on my laptop to pretty much seal the pc gaming death for me.. Skyrim plays nice for me btw even at ver 1.4.

I am sorry. but this game just does not live up to Oblivion and Morrowind. I feel like their games just keep getting lazier and lazier aside from the graphics improvements…

You guys are on something….
I have the Xbox360 version, the only problem I’ve encountered is a glitch in the last quest of the Thieves Guild/Nightengales…
Personally, can’t wait for the patch for xbox360… been waiting for EVER. I refuse to play my archer or mage till it comes out.

There are much more issues that need to be adressed for console Skyrim versions. All them PC players get that awesome unofficial patch while we console gamers have to wait weeks just to get the regular patches that barely help anything. and the only reason they released the PS3 version even though it was buggy was because they had to make their 11/11/11 deadline for all versions. I for one am glad they did this and would have even been happier if they released the game earlier since like many I was dying to play, but now that its out they need to fix these things and stop working on DLC unless there working on Fallout 4, then by all means go full steam ahead on that and release it as fast as possible even if it turns out to be a buggy mess, cuz I actually am dying to play that as well

Get a grip, man. If you like PC better that’s fine with me, and everyone else. Nobody said consoles are better. Even if they did, people stating their own views, opinions, and observations is in no way “trolling”. You need to get that nerd rage under control, man. You sound like my teenage boys with that PC is better, console is better mess.

My PC boots faster than my XBox(thank you SSD). The only thing that takes remotely more effort is installing instead of playing from the disc – which you still do with some 360 titles.

Do you use some sort of desktop obfuscating software? For me, it’s as easy as 1: Turn on PC. 2: Double-click Game Icon. I even bluetooth’d a WiiMote in as a mouse so I don’t have to find a surface to mouse around on.

I don’t understand where the hassle is.

Once again proving that the PC is the superior console.

Why would you want to pay so much for a limited, locked-down box when you can pay the same for a full-featured PC and just plug it into your TV?

You know, you can actually get USB PS3/360 controllers for the PC…you don’t have to use the keyboard and mouse(though it is proven to be a more accurate control input setup).

Trying to say that a ~6 year old single-purpose box is somehow better than a modern-level PC is just trollin’.

What? I love the keyboard+mouse as much as the next guy but by far the best way to play Skyrim on the PC is with an XBOX360 controller on a large screen monitor.

I have a hard time believing any of that. I have the 320 GB PS3 just the same as you. Why would I have absolutely no issues, but you be plagued with bugs with the exact same game and system? It doesn’t add up.

Maybe to you an HTPC is a “leanback” experience, but not for the general public. I too have an HTPC, (Moneual 320-b) and much prefer to play games on Xbox, or PS3. It’s just easier, they were created for games (though they do more), no keyboards, easier navigation. I could go on. Sure, you could use the Xbox controller for Windows, and veg out once you get to the game you want to play, and assuming you don’t need to map the controller for unsupported games. It’s a hassle.

Factually incorrect. I’ve got a nice little HTPC that does duty as a Media Center, PC Game Console, and networked media server. All you need is a gamepad for that casual lean-back experience and Microsoft provides a wireless Xbox360 controller for Windows to accommodate. I personally prefer to use the Cideko Air Keyboard Conqueror instead; more functionality than the vanilla X360 controller. Do you know what the best part is, though? My budget HTPC still outperforms all currently available consoles consistently, and always at 1080p! Oh how fun!

I sold my ps3 copy of skyrim for the reasons in the artcle, and its a new system with300gb+ avail. I grabbed a copy of the xbox version, which loads scene transitions a zillion times faster than ps3, but.. bugs galore.. quest items in inventory are corrupt, freezing afte 4 hrs of play.. also a newish console, just over 1yr old, with a nice big harddrive with 200gb+ available.

Bethesda took a artful and wondrous game and marred it with glitches and a hasty release.

Testps3 version really does stink. I can literally go make a cup of coffee in the scene transition leaving an Inn to the outside. Once I hit about lvl 50 the save files were so unwieldy I finally sold the game used and gave up. Too bad.. since it is a wonderful environment that would allow the 3rd party vendor that handles those peices of the game ruin all that splendor. … AND why in the heck isn’t it playable online for xbox or ps3? Wth? If halo reach can be played online then so could skyrim. How much fun would it be to share a campaign with some friends?

I cannot get Skyrim to start now, even after unloading every mod. Yeah, they’ll probably fix it eventually, but if I had a console, I’d be playing Skyrim now. Instead, I’m trying to figure out what’s special about my own configuration and hardware. Sigh.

I’m pretty sure the only PS3 users having problems with this game are those who have smaller hard drives, or little free space on their hard drive. I finished the main quest, and had no issues at all.
