Brian Dunn drove Best Buy's business for quite some time before he became the CEO. He moved into the role of CEO as the business was already failing. While I can't disagree that Best Buy has made some bad moves that affect its core business and customers - the blame can't be put entirely on him.

Companies that operate around a store front model simply cannot compete with Amazon. The prices will always be much higher than an item from a company that only runs product through warehouses with limited overhead.

With all of that said, Best Buy has tried (and failed) to produce an online presence, but they have not given it the effort that it deserves in a world where so much business and customer demand revolves around the online marketplace. They haven't driven a successful competitor to Netflix/iTunes/Android Marketplace for movie and music downloads, which drives business into their stores and ultimately they cannot sell to customers that do not walk into the stores.

I would like to see the CEO resign. He is ineffective. The board really needs to take action.

For BB to succeed after the demise of its only real competition, Circuit City, shouldn't be that difficult. But BB ignores its core business; launches expensive other campaigns; all the while trying to its charge customers way too much for products which can be had elsewhere for a lot less.
