My sentiments exactly! My time and sanity is worth more than causing a scene like a lunatic, or baby rather, so I pay the regular price which is actually still not bad. I have a word for these people and it starts with an “N” and ends with a “gers.” And yes white people included!

And I got them to honor a refund of $200 on my previous purchase @$299, because I threw a freaking fit in the store, refreshing their webpage the whole time they were trying to balk. I don’t really care for Best Buy’s business practices, and it was quite nice to stick it to them for a change.

Between my daughter, son-in-law and myself we wasted 5 hours and time off of work because of what your company promised. I will be telling everyone I know about how crappy your business is. My daughter, son-in-law and I waiting at the store this morning for an hour and 1/2. We were told by one of the employees that they had about 3 and they were $99.99. After a while, another person came out and said they were sold out, yet the store hadn’t even opened yet. My son-in-law called corporate and they said they would not honor the price on the website. One store said they were selling them for $199, another store said that there were disclaimers on all the stores that they were selling them for $399….but there wasn’t a disclaimer on either of the stores we were at. Best Buy can suck it!! Our family will never shop there again and everyone I know (and I work at a very busy business) will be told about their practices. I will also be complaining to the Better Business Bureau and maybe to one of our local news stations.

For the exact reason you just posted. It’s people who think the way you do we have a problem in this world. If you DID invest some free time into becoming knowledgeable and an expert, you could move up in the company and make something of yourself. That’s what my dad did. Started out as a technician for Verizon Communications, now he runs the Dallas Marketing Division at Verizon Business.

People who expect everything to be given to them by everyone else piss me off, and are worthless to companies, hence the low wage.

If they actually paid employees a decent wage, invested in a training program to foster development within their ranks then they would be knowledgeable. If they had already purchased it at $99.99 but Best Buy is not honoring that, that is false advertisement. We have technology called email on our store’s intranet. That is how we first were notified of the mistake. Secondly, our corporate contacts are available to the public and anyone wishing to call them was given the proper extensions. Thirdly, we use pretty strong tape to hold our correction notices on the door. The weather outside was pretty still with little wind and no rain. Fourthly, the WEBSITE had the tablet listed at $99 while the PRINTED ad clearly listed it at $299. And fifthly, if you believe this accident was intentional and Best Buy would risk millions and having HTC yank their products, then you are special.

So how do you explain how YOU got the corrections, before the INSTANT WEBSITE had the corrections? Since corporate controls that. If I were you, I would complain, as a manager, at corporate placing YOU under our honest fire. We were led there by corporate, uncorrected. That printed piece of paper said nothing about “Corporate” and has no ID or number to call, and should have been placed outside, and on every flyer-stand… Not stupidly on a window that flys away from view, as it is approached. In any event… If corporate advertised it, it is their legal responsibility to cover the losses, which would NOT have come out of your pockets. However, they timed it bad, and failed to change the internet price, before notifying you. That makes it a scam, fraud, etc… At the least. They would have corrected it online, at the same time as sending every office that notice. But they didn’t.

Seriously, you think that this “Lowest priced tablet”, skipped the editors, the reviewers, or anyone at corporate? No, it was a flat out scam. Priced one dollar below HP’s Touchpad at $100, so it would show in all searches for tablets under $100. So it would generate walk-in traffic for the real sales. So it could trick us, and look like it was merely a mistake… A mistake, that had two errors… By the way… The Original price of $299, was the first error, and the second was $99 for the sale price. How exactly did that “Slip by them?” It was done on purpose.

False advertisement is directed at intentionally misleading prices, not mistakes. So go for it, sue bestbuy. All you’ll be doing is paying their court fees.
Why would they do this intentionally? All they would gain is upset customers, and employees that have yet another reason to hate their jobs, they now have to deal with people like yakuzagang5 who think they know all the laws.

You fail. False Advertisement can be pursued in court. You cannot falsely advertise a product and deny a customer the advertised price. If you were denied BEFORE their announcement, while it was advertised at $99, you have the legal right to purchase that item at $99.
