I bought one and I can tell you if you think the Playbook is great your expectations are too low. It consistently drops its wi-fi ( my laptop on the same wi-fi after 3 years has never dropped it) Took it with me on a recent business trip and still dropped the wi-fi consistently. What makes the wifi connection so important is because most of their “decent” apps require internet connection. Most of their good apps are not available for the Playbook which makes me wonder just how much BB really cares if this thing takes off, seriously until the business world starts taking notice to ipad uses you won’t see much change from BB with concern to their tablet. their phones are still their #1 priority.

Did it ever occur to anyone that retailers decided to pull the product because they could not keep up with orders and until they do so the 16gb will be offline? Trust me they sold lots of these.

Actually, the tablet is great. No bottoms on the front, hand gestures/swipes, and graphics are great. Does lack of email and contacts bother me, no. It comes with. Google mail app and I don’t need to have email on the desktop, laptop, phone, & tablet…why does everyone?

BB did NOTHING to sell this tablet-it being unplugged 90% of the time I visited BB. Nobody knew how to work it, etc… I wonder if BB charges apple for positioning/sales like grocery stores go to food companies.

Too bad, the tablet is fast and user-friendly.

This issue has to do with Best Buy cancelling orders – nothing else – not PlayBook or any other product for that matter – but with the integrity of the retailer.

Ya, this one is Journalist error. There sold out everywhere due to the great price. Say what you will about the software. A 200 dollar tablet with a capacative screen is great. I personally would go with the amazon fire myself for the apps but its not that the playbook is doing poorly as the author of this post says.

Too bad for BB users. The Playbook tethers with the Blackberry phone, so that the data plan for the phone can be used with the Playbook for Browsing or Email/Calendar/ToDo. That is about a $20/month savings over the iPad/iPhone combo. I am a Blackberry user for business purposes and have been looking at the Playbook for working with my BB. The Android can share its WiFi with any WiFi tablet, but is not as business friendly. I don’t think that Blackberry will ever gain the popularity that it once had with the consumer crowd, but it is still best when supporting hundreds of these things. The best thing for RIM to do is to sell itself to an HP, IBM, or DELL for further and better secure integration into the corporate network.

They are sold out everywhere. I checked BestBuy, Walmart, Staples, The Source and they all said they sold out and can’t get stock fast enough.

Looks like the “Journalist” did not do his research.

Drop it to $99 like the HP touchpad and watch it fly off the shelves. This isn’t nearly as good a product as that was but people will buy it at $99.

Not sure where you are getting your facts from, but if you check best buys website you will see that you are completely wrong…What kind of journalist doesnt check their facts? If you checked your facts you would see that they are SOLD OUT ONLINE, which would imply to me that there is high demand for the product at this price…
