If you have an old game console lying around that you’re looking to unload somewhere, Best Buy has just joined the list of places that are more than willing to take them. Granted, this new initiative won’t allow you to just drop off your old hardware at the store, you’ll have to ship it off to them.

If you head over to Best Buy’s site, you’ll be able to make your way to their trade-in page, which is actually handled by dealtree.com. You need only select the particular console you have, and provide a few details. Once this is done you will receive a quote, if you’re ok with the amount, you’ll be taken to a page where you can print off a shipping label. Your sweet monies will come to you in the form of a Best Buy gift card in a little over a week. You can also trade in a variety of other electronics in addition to gaming consoles.

Natuarlly, you’re not going to get the most bang for your buck out of a service like this. I’d recommend checking the price against that of your local gaming shop before sending off your hardware.
