Belkin Miracast Video Adapter shoots content from Android devices to the TV

Belkin has announced a new product that sounds similar to the Chromecast device we reviewed back in July when it launched. Belkin's new product is called the Belkin Miracast Video Adapter F7D7501. The device is designed to mirror smartphone content onto the big screen in your living room.

That content can be from a variety of sources including movies, photos, games, and other apps. The Belkin adapter is able to support full 1080p HD resolution. The adapter has a plug and play design with easy set up and requires a connection to the TV via an HDMI port.

The Belkin Miracast device works with any Android device that runs Android 4.2.x or higher. That includes popular devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, and lots of other smartphones. The device also supports the Kindle Fire HDX tablet.

The Belkin Miracast Video Adapter is available for $79.99, which makes it significantly more expensive than the Chromecast device. Belkin designed the adapter to have a low profile so it can be hidden from view behind the TV. The device does ship with an HDMI extension cable and it requires power from a USB cable.
