Behold! Audi's most powerful production car ever

Audi has taken the wraps off of its most powerful production vehicle ever, the Audi R8 competition, the road-going cousin to the company's award winning R8 LMS ultra race car. Capable of 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 199 MPH, the R8 competition wraps a hefty 570 HP in lashings of lightweight carbon fiber and a host of new aero elements to help keep the limited edition car on the tarmac.

570 HP takes some doing, and so Audi used a 5.2L V10 paired with a seven-speed S tronic transmission. There's also a sport exhaust system, which Audi has finished off with black high-gloss tailpipes.

Carbon fiber replaces several elements on the exterior. The fixed rear spoiler, engine bay, mirror housings, flics, side blades, front spoiler, and rear diffusor are all finished in the eye-catching material, but which also helps save weight.

Gloss black wheels wrapped with 305 cross-section rear tires and paired with ceramic brakes with glitzy anodized red brake calipers are fitted too.

Inside, meanwhile, the center console gets its own matte carbon fiber finish, and there's illuminated "R8 competition" badging inset into the door sills.

If you don't like Audi's default color selections, however, the company allows for broad customization under its "exclusive line" scheme.

Not many will get to trick out the R8 competition that way, however. Audi will only make sixty units in total, pricing tbc, with deliveries expected from early in 2015.
