i’ve been waiting for this to happen for a long time, me being 14 and growing up in the digital era and whatnot. but in a way, i’m happy it took this long.. if i had bought the music on Itunes, i wouldnt have bought all the albums by the Beatles. and i am a huge Beatles fan. to be a Beatles fan you really need to get into their music and i know that people are just going to go to Itunes and buy “Hey Jude” or “Come Together” and not even pay attention to the lesser known better songs. I already have all the physical album but i’m hoping i can get Anthology on itunes because i really dont want to spend a lot of money on bootleg songs

Wow! Really? The Beatles? On iTunes? Wow?

Let me dust down my credit card, I’ve been waiting for this since 2003. CD ripping is illegal in the UK so, until now, I’ve had no way to acquire the Fab Four for my iPod.

I tried to get a copy of the USB back catalogue last year but it was sold out :’(

Correction: Rolling Stones did NOT say The Beatles were #1 (they purport Bob Dylan); however, they argue that one of their albums, “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, is the best album of all time.

If this is true then WTH? For god sakes this is a 50 year old band that most people with ITunes either could care less about or weren’t even born yet in their heyday. Besides you know they’ll charge more money than other music. That being said, this hype better be about the IPad IOS 4.2 upgrade that’s been way too slow to be released.

In a quick defense of The Beatles:

@n900mixalot: I don’t understand what your dislike of The Beatles has to do with this article. Typically, if you don’t have anything good to say, except to offend what someone else may like, don’t say it. Also, I think it’s ironic that you say that there are “many, far better bands” when most well-learned music critics and historians argue they are one of the most defining bands in all of music. (e.g. Rolling Stone magazine, which is not the best source but *a source*, argues they are the #1 band of all time; not “many” better than 1 I suppose).

On that note, I do agree that this is one of the more… low-key announcements made by Apple.
