Barnes & Noble announces launch of NOOKstudy

Barnes & Noble announced back in July the new NOOKstudy platform that would allow students to access a massive library of digital textbooks from a PC or Mac that they can use to study with from anywhere. At the time, we didn't know exactly when the new service would launch with the only hint being a date of "this fall."

Barnes & Noble has announced that NOOKstudy is now available and that students can search the massive digital textbook library from within Blackboard Learn, which is a leading web based teaching and learning platform. NOOKstudy has about a million titles with eBooks, eTextbooks, and study aids for college students. The content also includes test prep guides, periodicals, and trade and professional titles.

Teachers can also take advantage of the new platform by assigning materials from the service to read and point students to the exact location of the materials they need to use. The NOOKstudy Blackboard Building Block is free for all higher education institutions in the US that use Blackboard Learn 9 or 9.1 with support for version 8 due by the end of October.
