Finally, it has come to the UK! Japan has been doing this for 8 years already. As with most people I have some hesitations with regards to security but I know this is going to be improved soon. As a small business owner I plan to get an NFC-enabled POS. Another thing I am anticipating is the release of the mPowa’s (www.mpowa,com) mobile POS system in the UK and in other European countries. Can’t wait.

Why pick a phone which already has NFC technology built into it to push a one way NFC sticker? Wouldn’t it be better to provide alternatives that don’t advertise to theives that you phone has more than just its intrinsic value?

It would be really good to see this rolled out across the entire Barclays suite including current accounts. They already issue the chips in their debit cards.

This is a wonderful development in mobile technology! I’m really excited to see where it will go, hopefully evolving to accept larger purchases. It would be great to see this spread to the USA if the trials go well. I do have some concerns in regard to security with it, so I hope if there are any significant issues with that, they come out in the trials before the full roll-out.
