There was Nokia or slew of HTC Windows phones back then. Nokia and HtC have full Famlies of Windows phone. MS had a few manufacturers with one or two models scattered throughout a few carriers. Granted, the new phones do not count toward Autumn sales, still the Nokia world push of the Lumia was Herculean effort.

There is a 10x difference in available windows phones in stores and more visibility. Sales should be 10x and not 4x. If sales were 4x of sales in the first half of 2012, I would say that things are looking up for Microsoft. Comparing sales to 2011 is like Apple competing with its 1992 sales figures

anyone that has tried to get a WP8 device in the past month knows that the demand has been much greater than Microsoft, any of the carriers or any of the manufacturers anticipated. The devices are literally sold out everywhere. Huge change from the WP7 launch.

Okay, no jokes that they have now only sold 4. I don’t know what it is, but for some reason, when I see Balmer, it just puts me off his products and I don’t believe a word he says. He has all the charisma of a dog turd.
