I am getting to love Windows 8. As am Microsoft Partner I have been running it for the last week and although a shock at first there is a lot to love. One thing I hate is the need for a Microsoft Windows account. You just cant run it without one….so I have to sign up for an account. It does however merge all your social media stuff into one place, and IE10 is good. It is however not obvious how to shut down. You have to log out first before you can turn off. Me thinks a lot of people will just leave it on to save the hassle and thats bad for the enviroment!

Lol and 10 year olds dont have credit cards, so someone is buying those apps…lol but 10 year olds do have influence on what parents buy though..lol

Your not stuck buying apps… Times change. Big and small companies have to change. Windows 8 you can install applications and apps. When att started it was a form of land line, then expanded land lines, then cell phones, internet/ tvuverse. If att kept your mindset they would of failed. Windows is smart enough to know where people money is going. And so are you. Think about it. More ppl log onto the Facebook app then the computer site. We see commercials every day at the end says download the free app. Or shazzam this commercial, or as you drive by our stores, it says download our app for great deals!

I don’t understand your logic.. And I don’t think you do either… You can INSTALL any PROGRAM! Not just apps! I can’t wait when this thing beast out in Oct I hope they give free isheep sheers for all purchases.

I think Windows 8 is the next Me. Judging by the horrifice interface re-design and the butchering of the few remaining pre-Windows 7 features I actually liked, I can’t see a copy on my computer.

It seems that Microsoft is being quite obvious in its efforts to jump on the bandwagon and cash in on the whole ‘app’ phenomena.

Maybe it all looks good from a 10 year old childs point of view, but to me, it reeks of opportunistic ‘I wanna be all things to everyone’ desperation.
Also, just by saying that “Windows 8 is the next big thing” doesn’t mean we believe it. Most of us, these days have been fed too much crap to be so naive. It’s tough to create hype these days…you better back it up.

If it really is the best thing ever…more power to them, but we’ve already been through Windows NT and Vista. Getting a little jaded, we are.

Technically for a ground breaking design (touch cover, magnesium build, kick stand etc…), a price point in between price would be a bargain.
