B) Most of things that Android does has much more to with what Google(Android) did. Linux is the kernel, not the system…

My wife uses an Android phone. It’s the first time she’s ever touched a computer. She loves it and is quite good at making it do what she wants. Ballmer’s just jealous of the success Android is having.

he shouldnt be CEO. He just too old. People dont care about price people care about the latest technology. dont chase android, catch up too apple iphone. its dumb anyway to market wp7 like android when its locked down software. i like the UI. But others thinks its cheezy. Allow companys like samsung and htc more customization. Or sell your own branded phone like apple and stop letting companies put out these 2year old wp7 phones

No doubt about it. W7 Mango is much easier to use than Android GB and maybe ICS but Android is far more customizable, far easier to design apps for and far better for the user as the user has all the control. In the future I see, OS on smartphones to go the PC way.

I think Ballmer overexaggerated that. Its obvious WP7 is easier to use than Android, thats common sense. He should however, have focused more on performance . Too many people I know who have Andoid (Galaxy S, Desire, Hero etc) are not planning on getting another Android device, after having to tell them the reason for choppy animation, crashes, and slowdown is not the hardware, but the OS.

That’s like saying “Apple didn’t revolutionize the smartphone, it just removed the physical keyboard and brought appeal to the masses.” But that’s the flaw in your thinking: that it takes a tremendous amount of effort to bring something to the mass market, which Linux has apparently failed to do. Give credit where it’s due, Google deserves it.

Do not give credit to Google where it is not deserved. I love Google so don’t get me wrong but Android is simply just another distribution based on the linux kernel. Many proprietary firmwares on phones even back a few years were based on linux and some were more successful than others. Mind you… Linux is nothing more than a highly modified and free version of unix… it has come a long way but many of you may not know.. unix is what powers Apple’s Mac OS. Many things that your android phone can do are only able to do what they do because of many hackers across the world and the man who united them all on the project… Linus Torvalds. Google played a very minor role in this but I can see why you credit them… its more visibly Google but believe me… its a small piece of the pie.

This is what happens when you don’t have a real product to sell yet; you denigrate the work of others.

It’s been three years now and nothing from Microsoft to compete in the phone marke . So when you don’t have game you diss the others guy’s game.

Add in the Zune debacle and then try to explain to your customers as to why they should trust your product roadmap to grow let alone be supported in the next year.

You know, the guy who preceded Ballmer in the top job at Microsoft used to appear on stage too — to announce some amazing new product. All Steve seems to be able to muster from his company is angry excuses how the king of Operating Systems got skunked by a search engine company. While Microsoft was tasked at making a rival to Google search, the Google team was attacking the very OS core of Microsoft. Google won — they are kings of the next generation.

Who would you rather have setting the direction for your company? A yeller or an innovator?

I can’t believe Ballmer complains that Android is to complicated when Windows phone cant even run continuously. Every time I even try to use a Windows phone on display its locked up. That’s kind of like a Yugo calling a Corvette underpowered.

Is it just me or is this douchebag flaming a product range that’s proceeds is currently the only thing keeping windows phone afloat?

Didn’t windows make 3x more from android than windows mobile last year?
And this year they have picked up Samsung royalties as well.

So stfu until your product can out earn the slightest cut of profits from android manufacturers.
