Personally, Blizzard are thieves. Had what I felt was a security issue with WoW almost two years ago, WoW techs denied problems on their end and said I shouldn't let others use my password. BZZZZZZtt, wrong....not even my wife knew it and it was never written down.... They refused/ignored my requests for refunding my remaining paid time.

So, Blizzard kiss my ass...... can't play offline, kiss my ass...... pay to play, kiss my ass....Beta that won't load and play, kiss my ss

This article is a little deceiving. While you cannot play without an internet connection, it does not mean you will be "cannon fodder for the higher ranks" because you can still play by yourself. Dial up users are not "doomed" any more now than they already are because they can still play solo like they could before.

Also this does not "end your ability to gold farm for loot" because there will still be an auction house using in-game money like normal which is what the vast majority of players will use. Most players will choose not to use the real money auction house because there is a listing fee, plus their dollar winnings are in Blizzard store credit and you get less money if it's converted to real money.

This article also completely fails to look upon and comment on the possitive aspect of these changes, and just calls it "bad news".

Personally I don't particularly like the fact that there will be a real money auction house in Diablo, but I don't see it as game changing as some claim it will be. Without it then there would be tons of 3rd party websites popping up selling powerful items for real money, many of which would be a scam. So the ability to do that would already be widely available anyway, and at least with Blizzard sponsoring it now it will keep the scamming to a minimum.

Also some may claim that the fees are Blizzard's way to get more money, but while that's true it also serves to limit the number of items that players choose to list on the real money AH and keeps the majority of items in the in-game money AH.

Lastly, anyone who was into Diablo 2 knew that there was an immense amount of hacking/cheating going on. These changes put everyone on equal footing in the regard and ensure everyone is playing within the rules of the game.

Personally I would like the option to keep my character offline so that whether it was on equal footing with other players is of no consequence, so that mods can still be used. We'll see what happens when this game finally comes out in a few months..or years.

from the site:

"(...)Here comes the bombshell: he also introduced to us the auction house. The real money auction house. Yes, an auction house that you pay/sell items for real cash and vice versa.(...)there would also be a gold-based auction house, as well as in-game trading... Maybe just to see our reactions or something(...)"

nonoNO this looks like pure shit.

Blizzard are you out of your Fing minds?? You ban people for buying and selling gold in WoW but youre going to make paying real money for in game items mandatory when you get a cut of the profit? This is an even stupider idea than the Real ID system for battlenet. Youre just asking for a sony level breach of credit card information. When are you going to get it that people dont want personal and financial information broadcasted to the netverse??

Stupidity takes hold, as people are blinded by the success of WoW.

And WoW is still the most expensive consumer game to start playing(that does not require a special physical device) at around $90 to €75 with only 1 month free...
