Finally the new 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel flagship (200 PS / 147 kW) will also now be available with Ford’s smooth-operating six-speed automatic transmission for powerful yet relaxed driving experience.

I was thinking the same thing when I was writing it. It’s a great idea, sure, and I guess we have to take some comfort that the technology is already in use right now — but I figure this is just asking for trouble.

I can just see it now. Someone will be at a stoplight in rush-hour traffic, and when the light turns green….the engine won’t go! Massive gridlock will become a common experience.

Aren’t these beaurocrats such outstanding geniuses!
