Mac fans are all about the elegant style, look, and feel. Nowadays, everything is customizable so why not customize your Apple MacBook with a carbon graphix MacBook sticker. Honestly, it looks a lot cooler than the color black, white, or silver. In fact, is looks like an entirely different laptop under certain lighting conditions. Just paste the carbon graphix vinyl sticker on your MacBook and it looks as though it’s made of carbon fiber.

If your MacBook is white this might not be a smart choice, but if you’re willing then go ahead. The new carbon fiber sticker no only provides style, it provides extra protection by giving your MacBook a rugged external coating. Everything from iPod covers to cars are going carbon fiber so this should be a nice fit for carbon crazed fanatics.

The stickers are easily attainable and ready for self-installation so there’s no excuse not to buy. This accessory will blend nicely with your carbon fiber printer, mouse pad, and other computer accessories. The carbon graphix shell is a definite pick and it looks original so it should fit your taste if you like the carbon fiber design.

Price: $20

Well, you all saw the recent fall of Honda’s ASIMO robot and you thought it was over; not so. I came across an older video of ASIMO and this time he made it up the stairs but didn’t quite make it downstairs in one piece. Honda’s Humanoid Robot is currently an overprice piece of machinery and technology that continues to make the audiences laugh. ASIMO’s job is to make us smile and ponder Honda’s greatness but it fails again in the featured video. The Humanoid cost an estimated $1 million to manufacture in addition to thousands more for maintenance. Lets not forget the repair cost when ASIMO trips over thick-air, which doesn’t exist.

ASIMO, which stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, has an excellent track record versus the competition, but as technology progresses it seems to fall more and more. Honda boasts that ASIMO is a “glimpse into the future”, which sorta makes sense when you consider people will eventually fall and slip on ice or something they didn’t notice. We’re just following in ASIMO’s footsteps.

It’s easy to criticize ASIMO because it’s so expensive, but technological advances come at a price so there is something to be learned. If you don’t have the funds to build one yourself they can be hired out for the cost of a mid-sized home; $150,000. I’d rather stick to Honda’s more reliable mid-sized vehicle and take an Accord EX. The solution to the ASIMO problem is possibly this 119 lb humanoid needs to shed a few pounds or gain some in crucial areas to offset its momentum when climbing and descending stairs in front of a live audience. I think ASIMO has stage-fright.

Price: $1mil

Remember the Clap On device that required you to simply clap and the lights or another device would power on or go off? Well, it gets even easier with Intela’s Voice Dimmer. It’s a simple device that does its job. The voice dimmer uses simple voice commands to turn on your Christmas tree or any device that is connected to the voice dimmer socket.

Don’t worry you can record custom phrases and it will respond to them. I wouldn’t advise you record, “Merry Christmas” or “Seasons Greetings” as your phrase because your device would power on and off countless times. Thinking of something creative like “Slashgear” as your phrase or pre-determined word and your device will be more than happy to power on or shut off.

The Intela Voice Dimmer is a small and non-intrusive so other outlets remain available. It doesn’t come in another color but it should match your wall color. The high quality voice activation sensor promises not to be a problem in a room full of your guests so it shouldn’t be a nuisance either. How embarrassing would that be if your tree, lamp, or lights flicker on and off based on various sounds? Functions are not limited to on and off, you can also dim lights so it’s good for creating different settings.

Price: $19.95

Perhaps the baddest and most expensive audio video preamp-processors on the face of the planet. The Halcro SSP-100 is a full audio and video processor with a video scaler. If you are not familiar with Halcro, don’t fret. Halcro is an Australian company known worldwide for their amplifiers, digital circuitry, and sound innovation. For starters, the unit is huge, thick, with a satin-finished aluminum panel but weight doesn’t matter when it comes to high-quality sound. The large LCD screen located in the front is not joke. It’s a monitor that supports 480i sources so video is a snap. The unit features USB, RS-232 connections, 10 sources (six audio/video, four video). It also includes HDMI, component, six S-video, six composite and it goes on and on with connections.

The picture above is the exact model. As you can see Finding Nemo is playing on the processor’s front display. The unit is professional grade so it comes rack mountable or free standing with a programmable touchscreen remote (seen below). As far as audio it features 7.1 channel balanced inputs and outputs, 4 programmable output channels which means you can literally play everything on the fly at any time. The audio features continue with the patented High Dynamic Bass (HDB) for superior, deep lows. I almost forgot it supports calibration, DTS, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic standards, THX, and it passed various tests to gain certifications.

The video capability are just as impressive. As mentioned before, it features 4 HDMI inputs which puts you ahead of your neighbor’s crappy AV system by 4-5 years. Digital audio and video can be sent through the processor, via your DVD system, and directly to your plasma, LCD, DLP, or projector. It has 1 HDMI output and DVI is fully supported for the computer geeks. One of the coolest features that you won’t find in other products is the built-in up-conversion scaler to component video & HDMI. So, if you’re sending a 1980′s signal through the processor it will do its best to upgrade the quality by filling in the blanks as much as possible. HDTV 1080p and/or HDMI ouput is a Godsend with progressive scan and many more features. The only drawback is that owners will need a professional installer to install the system and calibrate it. Knowing everything about audio and video isn’t enough when it comes to this system. A authorized dealer will have to tweak the device and configure it to its optimal performance then you can start pushing buttons.

Price: $9,900

It’s possibly my favorite car because it makes so much sense. I am still amazed at the lack of hype this vehicle receives. The V10 BMW M6 is a car overlooked by many because buyers often prefer the BMW M3 or the M5 and are not aware of its existence. FYI, BMW stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke or Bavarian Motor Works in English. Many owners are too lazy to Google the acronym and find out what they’re actually driving so now there’s no excuse. Okay, back to the car. The BMW M6 (convertible included) is a four seater, although it’s not built for full size humans (backseat), it owns the Mercedes SL and other contenders in the room category.

The V10, 5.0-liter BMW M6 droptop packs 500-hp and it also has the convenient seven-speed sequential manual gearbox also known as SMG. The M6 has a prompt throttle response and redlines at 8250-rpm. The M6 cabrio version will sport a three layer softtop that opens in 25 secs. It also includes so much technology under the hood I would be making up terms if I tried to describe it, but it all equals ungodly speeds. It goes from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and it tops at 155 which can be tweaked but the ABS breaks should save you. Without controls the vehicle is said to reach 205-206 mph. The vehicle is more than just a car, it’s a monster that is driven by very few people. If the buyer is going to spend thousands of dollars he or she might as well have room for some cuties in the back and that’s why this car makes so much sense.

The V10 BMW M6 has been around for several months but it’s still a car that stuns the audiences. This past ’06 summer, I spent several months in Los Angeles, where I saw various sports cars, and a first glance will shock even the most car savvy individual. It’s a fine looking vehicle built to perfection and the distinctive grill is still present so BMW knows its roots. The vehicle also has options for GPS, satellie radio, and any option you can think of. BMW will most likely hold the record of the “World’s Fastest Four-Seat Convertible”, according to “Car and Driver”. Expect more from Bayerische Motoren Werke.

Price: $110,000

It’s your music is on the go with these hip Bluetooth Wireless Speakers. The 60 watt cabinet speakers can be networked with any device in your home including your phone, mp3 player(s), PDAs, PC, laptop, or any Bluetooth enabled device that streams audio. These speakers are a quick fix for those who hate wires everywhere and those who love to boast about their new ringtones.

The white-lacquered will match your decor and they’re not too bulky so they should fit comfortably under a desk or hidden near a wall. The Bluetooth speakers also include EDR for up to 3Mbps and it can also support the A2DP and AVRCP format. When these wireless speakers were created they put thought into it by including a RCA line-in input for devices that lack Bluetooth technology. The specifics on sound quality are a bit sketchy but each speaker contains a built-in digital two-channel Class-D amplifier so it doesn’t sound like a car wreck.

As you can see, the Bluetooth Wireless Speakers are a great addition to your college dorm room, office, or just about any setting. Add a Bluetooth device to your iPod and you can host parties from your wireless iPod in a flash. There are many Bluetooth devices that promise high quality sound but I say, “give these a try” and see how they sound.

Officially, it’s a concept car and it made its debut at the Detroit auto show but it will hit the pavement soon. The Advanced Lightweight Coupe is just that, light weight. The new 2007 Jaguar XK8 has an aluminum skeleton with aluminum body panels making the curb weight drop by several hundred pounds. It paid off because a typical XK weighs 3,671 pounds so any decrease in weight will help handling this monster. The car will most likely be a supercharged V8 with top of the line sporty features. The XK’s interiors are described as techno and classy as you can see below. The main specs of the new 2007 Jaguar XK8 is much speculation but from the looks of several images, Jaguar will not disappoint. We know they won’t.

The 2+2 cabin is modern with impressive curvature but it’s still reminiscent of the classic muscle car. The Porsche 911 should be nervous and for good reason. For one, it’s interior is far superior and the outside does a nice job. It’s eyecandy and many motorists will do a double-take when you zoom right past them. If I had the funds I would be driving it right now. I advise you take a look at more screenshots below.

The fsb is 667MHz and it’s Windows Vista Compatible so it’s good for running several applications simultaneously and writing document. Could you ask for much more? Yes, a tv tuner but it does the job for a decent price. This stylish notebook will, of course, run for hours without a recharge and the external casing is a nice, elegant finish. Excellent piece of technology but it’s currently available in Japan.

Price: $1,061

Many may already own it, but for those who don’t read this. So, what are you looking at; another overpriced Samsung SyncMaster. The Samsung SyncMaster 960BF 19″ Analog/Digital LCD Monitor packs a lot of brand, but lacks the numbers I was looking for. For starters, it’s a nice looking LCD monitor that comes with a hefty pricetag. Lets look at the stats. It’s a 19″ monitor that displays 16.2 million colors. The native resolution is 1280 X 1024, the brightness sits at 300 cd/m2. It has DVI and it comes with a 3 year warranty depending on where you buy it. The only thing that impressed me is the 4 millisecond response time.

Stats look nice if you like to spend money but there’s a huge problem; the 700:1 contrast ratio. If you are not sure what that means, look at it this way. I admit I’m a geek but it’s been a while so I did more research on the contrast ratio and why its so important when making a decision. The contrast ratio is the ratio of the brightest and darkest images a display can reproduce, so a greater ratio equals a higher quality picture and more fine details in color. I checked and a used one can run $230 but it’s still not worth it. My LG monitor cost $240 with a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and I didn’t spend the month’s paycheck doing it. The SyncMaster 971P-R is another model in the series of overpriced LCD monitors by a respectable company we know as Samsung. If you like cute things then buy, you like saving, then shop around and look for comparisons.

Price: $470.00

Anything that helps me spy and I’m all in. The TC 242N Digital Binocular Camera is a 5.0 mega-pixel camera with many features. The 5.0 mega-pixel binocular camera features an SD card slot, 8X non-digital zoom so your subjects can’t be too far away, auto exposure, a 1.5″ TFT color LCD, and it takes AVI clips. These binoculars are excellent for basketball games but I wouldn’t suggest them for baseball especially if you have horrible seats. The binoculars are not huge so they will fit into your wife’s purse or around your neck comfortably.

The pros include the the high-res 1600 X 1200 pictures it’s capable of taking and its weight, but there are cons. It has a USB 1.1 interface which shouldn’t matter much, no night-vision, it’s not Apple friendly, and it takes batteries are some of the various cons included, but it’s still a nice piece of gadgetry. The unit isn’t rechargeable so it must be geared towards hikers and those who enjoy the outdoors.

Price: $199.95

Can you ask for much more at its low pricetag? No, it’s not a theatrical or stage light but it’s great for birthdays and parties; especially New Years Eve celebrations. On the downside it doesn’t come with remote control and lacks sound activation. It’s marketed to the 12yrs+ demographic which includes us all.

Price: $71.91

According to Sandvine’s, a company that helps broadband service providers, they have identified an 80% increase in the number of XBox Live users in the month of November. They are counting the start of November as the 7th because the surge in XBox Live usage occurred after the release of Gears of War and five other highly anticipated games. Sandvine purports this increase in XBox Live activity using their intelligent broadband network which is another name for fiber-optic cables, high-speed connections, massive storage, large servers, and the best network administrators.

Sandvine also states that the increase in XBox Live user traffic is the largest since the popular Halo II debuted on the XBox in 2004. Halo II started the broadband gaming boom and ultimately kept the XBox afloat with increased popularity and usage.

Music lovers, iPod fans, and those alike will enjoy the high-quality V-Moda Bass Freq earphones. They are exactly what millions of music fans are looking for and they come at a decent price. Previously, you were forced to buy huge earphones that covered your entire head. There are many earbuds similar to the V-Moda Bass Freq, but many lack deep bass and they’re expensive so ultimately they’re not worth it once you lose them or they break. The Bass Freq Modaphones uses V-Moda’s modern Bass Level Isolating Soft Silicon (BLISS) technology to deliver crisp highs, warm midtones, deep lows, and it blocks outside noises.

The stylish colors vary so your earphones can be aesthetically pleasing and they excellent in the comfort department. The modawrap cable manager is included to help control excess slack and entanglement when dealing with earphones. The best thing about the V-Moda Bass Freq earphones is the price.

Price: $50.00

For some reason I love the numerous cords and junk around my computer. My 250gig harddrive, router, iPod, LCD, tv tuner, and more make a complete mess and it makes me feel important like I’m computing a massive number. Well, if you hate the messiness and disorganization, that I love so much, you need LaCie’s USB and FireWire Huby. Something tells me this will appeal more to Apple users because it doesn’t match my gray monitor and multi-colored computer case. LaCie’s Huby is a stylish, round shape, polycarbonate device that has 5 USB 2.0 and 3 FireWire 400 connections.

The Hub also features a USB fan, a USB light, and it comes with USB and FireWire extension cables. From the start I was a fan of USB and I will continue to bring the latest. As more devices become a necessity for your computer and you run out of ports you will naturally crave more connections.

Price: $79.99

It’s huge, pricey, but it’s saving daily fuel costs by up to $1,000. After years of testing the SkySail, a 160-square-meter kite, will be installed on German vessels to cute the cost of fuel. The SkySail should come as no surprise. Kites were often utilized in maritime travel to harness wind power and propel ships forward. What makes the SkySail significant is its usage on huge, cargo vessels that carry oil, cars, and other goods. Estimates say the SkySail will cut fuel used by up to 20 percent and it’s a welcome piece of technology, because it cuts emissions and it’s environmentally friendly. The MV Beluga SkySail is currently in product and it will include a paraglider sail and a “smart” central steerage unit. First sail is set for 2007. The SkySail isn’t a laptop, plasma, or USB accessories but it’s a definite piece of technology that uses the Earth’s resources to create a better planet.

If you own a huge vessel and you’re concern about fuel I suggest you guy one. It cost $660,000 to $3.3 million, so it’s no biggie. With ships carrying 90 percent of all world goods this may cut the cost of electronics over time so the SkySail is a step in the right direction. By the year 2015, 1,500 vessels are expected to have the high-tech kite system fully integrated.

Price: $600,000 – $3.3 mil

If you’re in Hong Kong, you’re in cellphone heaven and you know what I mean. Toshiba Corporation recently announced the Toshiba TS32 and it’s currently available through SmarTone-Vodafone in Hong Kong. With the success of modest and not over-the-top cell phones, manufacturers are going with an attractive, candy-shaped model and the paying customers overwhelmingly approve. The GSM TS32 phone will include the standard features, but the press release states its compatibility with advanced services; also called EDGE along with various other names.

As featured above, it comes in Lunar Graphite, Desert Gold, and Midnight Purple and it doesn’t weigh much. The 1.3 mega pixel camera is far below impressive with the standard digital zoom. The TS32 features SMS, MMS, email, Bluetooth, WAP 2.0, a microSD slot, and an FM radio. Honestly, a standard phone with minimal features given the data available but it looks nice and the Desert Gold model is worth having if you wear beige pants to a dinner party.

Price: $500-$600

This fake hit the scene about a month ago but I feel our viewers need more insight if it were real. Lets suppose it’s real and proceed. If I can get my hands on one, it will be my next phone; the Nokia 6639. I love Nokia and I can’t say enough about their phones. The phone is not viewable on Nokia’s website so the information is limited but there’s one thing I’m not concerned about when it comes to Nokia; features. The Nokia 6639 is a Swiss army knife, a Zippo lighter, a double mega pixel digital SLR camera and it has Photoshop. When I learned of this I almost did a backflip. The phone has a 1024 X 768 pixel screen and it also features a Pentium M-Dothan binuclear 2.0GHMz with dual channel 512MDDR2 memory with expandable features. Need I say more? The phone will support every video and audio format available to mankind and will display 16 million colors on the TFT screen. Obviously, this phone is made for the paparazzi because you can attach a huge SLR lens to the back-end and use the built-in email client to mail it to sources; thus a profit and you can buy another one.

The camera’s exposure can be set to a variety of modes and you can change the aperture priority, shutter priority, and more. It also features a Swiss yataghan Plug procedures remote control (with the public wireless transmission protocol), thermometer, needle guide, LED beam, and additional features for those who enjoy the outdoors. The phone will also feature wifi for connectivity to access points. This feature is a huge priority to people willing to spend hundreds of dollars. For such a phone I’m sure it will be powered by the dominant Symbian Operating System and the navigation will be the same. Who wouldn’t buy this stellar piece of God-send technology if they had the money?

Note : This is a wishlist (vapoware – not real product)
Price: Official Not Set (Guess $1000+)

If you like weird, eccentric, and cryptic time displays then you’ll salivate over the 1000100101 by none other than Tokyoflash. This 1960 classic accessory is absolute Bond and it knows what to do best; confuse your friends. It’s straight out of a Star Trek episode with lights flashing and countless patterns that display the time. As far as durability, it’s top of the line featuring a metal panel and carbon fiber style strap to weather the elements.

It passes the cool factor test but it lacks additional features which would, of course, require a screen. The standard features include AM & PM, month, date, and day of the week. In addition, buyers might like the automatic light-up feature which is set at 15 minutes. You can also select pre-programmed light patterns to impress your friends or contact outer space if you have that capability.

Price: $85.22 (approx. ¥9800)

Another modification, gotta love it. It’s the single-handed wireless XBox 360 Controller mod built for a serviceman injured in the Iraq War. The controller is built for left-handed individuals so it should please the lefties out there. When you tilt the controller against your leg it functions as the right analog stick so it’s optimal for nearly every game out there. While this controller is built specifically for lefties, it can be used for those who prefer the right hand. Every single function can be executed and the remote is ergonomically designed so it should fit perfectly.

Due to the confinements and design the buttons were either moved or created but functionality remains the same. This fine piece of technology was created by Ben Heckendorn. He is also responsible for the watercooler XBox 360 laptop. The top photo is the front and the second is the back of the controller. I don’t need it, but kudos to the creator.

I’ve known about this cool gadget for quite some time and I’m honored to do a review about it. What is it? The Mvix Wireless Hi-Definition Media Player! The top of the line model MX-760HD sports some fancy features that I’ll quickly cover. The MX-760HD is basically a Hi-Def Multimedia Playback device that supports nearly every file format imaginable. The only limit to this device is yourself because it serves whatever digital content you have available and its built around linux-based architecture so you can guarantee it’s going to work. So what does it do? It links all your media from your network or computer to your audio system or television and it will output true high-definition to your plasma or LCD monitor. Use the Ethernet port to connect it to your network or try another fancy method; 802.11g. The built-in wifi transfer rates stream up to 54 Mbps so streaming media is no stranger. It will automatically decode and bookmark your playlist so you don’t have to. It also supports 1920 X 1080 Progressive Scan output so you can get that clarity you crave from your plasma or LCD monitor.

Pause, fast-forward, rewind, stop are just a few of the numerous features that you would expect from this piece of technology. The Mvix Hi-Def Player is your storage for important videos, media files, and other viewable content so lets start the transfer or you can let this media player do it for you. Here are a number of formats that it supports, DivX® (3/4/5), Xvid, MPEG 1/2/4, WMV-9, ASF(WMV9), DAT, DVD(IFO, VOB), ISO, HD-level TP, TS, TRP, MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG, PCM, AC3, and DTS with a lot more. The wireless output, DVI, composite, and other hookups make this a great buy for people who have a huge library of music and video files. It’s nice looking and it can sit behind your television unnoticed while your computer stays in its ordinary place. With Digital Optical ports you can be a dj or host a presentation with the fabulous MX-760HD.

Price: $329.00

Introducing my favorite gadget; the MP4 watch. Made by Thanko, the MP4 watch sits comfortably on your wrist, and like the title suggest, it plays all your mp4 video files and more. An mp4 watch should come as no surprise since they’ve been around or mostly in concept, but this watch caught my eye because of its design. The Thanko MP4 watch has a 4 X 4 cm screen with excellent resolution and the most impressive spec is the 2gb of internal storage capacity. The 2gb storage should come in handy for those graduation videos that you value and the excursion videos we love to brag about.

For all you music lovers it also stores and plays mp3s. Additional features include voice memos, which are saved in mp3 format, so it’s excellent for listing to your music files and important audio. If someone ever doubts you just say you have it on video or on audio and they will deny it. Then, flip your wrist and play your music or video file as proof. The MP4 watch is also compatible with pictures files so you can store and view your photos and did I mention the most important function; it displays the time. There are two version of Thanko’s MP4 watch, the 1gb for $189.00 and the 2gb for $249.00 Does an alarm clock function matter when you have a multimedia viewer on your wrist? I don’t think so.

Price: 1gb $189 and 2gb $249

It’s cool, sleek, sexy, and ergonomically design thus another product from Nokia. The Nokia 6300 is seen as another stellar product from Nokia’s mid-series line of cellphones. The Nokia 6300 includes a 2 megapixel camera, 8x digital zoom, 2 inch QVGA screen, mp3 player, FM radio, speaker phone, and 135 MB of internal memory with and option to expand up to 2GB with a microSD card. It also includes an e-mail client, Edge support, Bluetooth, the Opera Mini Browser, video clip, and voice-dailing. For such a phone with standard to okay features, customers would expect a longer talk-time and this model pulls through with 3.5 hours.

On the flip-side this is a decent product from a respectable company. Nokia is no stranger to excellent design and this definitely does the job because the phone is less than 13.1mm and it has the popular stainless steel body for durability. This phone was created based on a design concept that mobile devices shouldn’t rival the size of tv remote controls, so the Nokia 6300 will fit in your pocket and it won’t break. According to sources it will ship during the first quarter of 2007 and preorders can be found for $400. It will come unlocked and is compatible with any GSM carrier within the U.S. or Internationally. If you are a Nokia, Symbian lover this phone will come in handy and the excellent GUI interface and multitasking options will set you apart from the others.
