Plantronics has a new website up that features hi-res photos of portions of a new Bluetooth headset, as well as the process in manufacturing the headset and ear pieces. We don't have any more information yet, but from the looks of it, there's something stylish coming out of Plantronics and soon. They add a new picture every few days, so keep checking back to see what they're up to.
SlashGear was sent the new Samsung Propel Pro as well as the new Samsung Impression. Both phones feature full slide out QWERTY keyboards and 3.0 MP cameras. The Impression features a AMOLED display that looks beautiful from any angle, and the Propel Pro is a businessman’s fashion piece with the metallic styling.
I like Windows XP. It's a solid operating system, if a bit outdated. The Windows 7 Beta has been promising, and is a definite improvement in both speed and stability over Windows Vista. However, some people might not share my warm feelings towards Microsoft's latest OS, and would prefer that their new computers have XP preinstalled, or have the capability to install XP over Windows 7. It has been confirmed that users can do this without having to deal with Vista at all.

I had the pleasure of getting my hands on a Sound ID 200 Bluetooth headset while at CTIA. I’ve been using it for the last few days and, frankly, I’m quite impressed with the device. It is fast becoming one of my favorite Bluetooth headsets. My experience with the Sound ID 200 has been very positive overall, and I feel Sound ID has a solid headset that exceeds expectations in both comfort and design.
According to a source very close to the issue, Verizon has given the go for RIM to release the BlackBerry Storm 2 in September of this year. The followup to the groundbreaking Storm that was released last year as the first touchscreen Blackberry, SlashGear has been told that the new Storm 2 addresses one of the biggest criticisms of the first smartphone and of Verizon devices in general, in that it will support WiFi.
CTIA was last week, and the SlashGear team brought you lots of great coverage from the event. While new devices were scarce, we got a closer look at some impressive phones and products from some of our favorite companies. We’ll bring you up to speed on CTIA and other important news just in case you missed it.
We took a look at the MSI X-Slim X340 and compared it to the iPhone 3G and Lenovo ThinkPad X301 in terms of size. The MSI X-Slim X340 is an attractive laptop, and the planned sub $1000 price tag makes it even more so.
Motorola’s freshly announced Evoke and MOTOROKR S320 Bluetooth Headset were at MobileFocus on Wednesday night for our viewing and hands-on pleasure. The Evoke is a decent touchscreen phone with a slide out keypad, as well as a full QWERTY when the touchscreen is in landscape mode. The phone home screen features 7 widgets that are always on, including YouTube, Weather, and more. The OS uses icon based buttons to make navigating as easy as possible for users who have never used a touchscreen device.

BlueAnt’s forthcoming product is the Q1 Bluetooth headset. This sleek headset features some amazing noise reduction technology and voice isolation. The most innovative feature of the BlueAnt Q1 is the voice control feature. The user can talk to the headset and tell it what needs to be done. For instance, if the user would like a tutorial of using the Q1, the user says “show me” and the Q1 will walk the user through the features. To pair the device, the user simply says “pair me.” The Q1 will even tell you your phone and headset battery life with the command “check battery” There are numerous other commands as well.
AT&T announced today that they’re releasing multiple mini-laptops with built in 3G capabilities. AT&T is subsidizing the cost of the laptops, bringing the initial cost down to as low as $49.99 with the purchase of the AT&T at home and on the go mobile broadband services. With the service, customers will also be able to access AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots around the country. Those broadband plans start at $59.99 a month.

There’s a growing market for anything having to do with medication and prescriptions. The baby-boomers are getting up there in age, and they’re living longer and better thanks to technology and new medications. However, they haven’t made a miracle memory drug just yet, so that’s where GlowCap comes in. GlowCap is prescription bottle with a special cap that uses a wireless connection to keep track of a patient and their prescription-taking behavior. The cap can communicate with doctors to let them know if the patient is taking their medications or not, and will also remind the patient that they have to take the pill. It can also communicate to family members through phone calls.
Wilson Electronics promises that you’ll never have a dropped call again with their technology in your home. Wilson’s devices use the in-home cabling to hook up to an antenna in your roof or wall that will boost your cell signal throughout your home. They also have mobile versions, including some for Blackberries and iPhones that provided a charging cradle for the device as well.
Today at CTIA, Samsung announced the Mondi, a small, Windows Mobile powered device, featuring WiMax and WiFi capabilities. The Mondi has a 4.3" touch screen, packs Bluetooth 2.1, a 3MP camera with video capture, a full slide out QWERTY keyboard, HDMI out, and 4GB of internal storage.
