- While Mikael has a love for modern advancements in film technology, he is particularly passionate about retro tech, with an ever-growing collection of VHS and film cameras commandeered from Goodwills.
- He owns hundreds of DVDs, Blu-Rays, and VHSes, with the hope of dedicating an entire room to his collection one day.
- When he isn't writing, Mikael runs a boutique animation studio called TriClops Films, which produces both commercial and original mixed media animated content.

Mikael Trench is an award-winning writer with eight years of professional experience in journalism. Along with being heavily involved in entertainment writing for brands such as SCAD Connector, SCAN Magazine, and Static Media's own Looper, he also has extensive experience in multimedia journalism and video editing for companies such as VOX ATL, Georgia Public Broadcasting, and ASIFA South. His extensive knowledge and experience working within the film and animation industries have earned him both film and journalism awards from such organizations as the SPLICE Film Fest, Georgia College Press Association, Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Circle, and the Spotlight Short Film Awards to name a few.
Education
Mikael Trench attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he earned a BFA in animation.
