GALAXY S 4 abandons original Samsung-made NFC tags for second-gen

It seems that the Samsung GALAXY S 4 now uses a BCM2079x NFC controller instead of the NXP PN544 NFC controller, making it incompatible with the original Samsung TecTiles. The current TecTiles are MIFARE Classic 1k tags, which are unreadable by the BCM2079x controller, meaning that those of you who plan on getting a GALAXY S 4 and want to use TecTiles will have to replace your current tags with Samsung's upcoming TecTile 2 tags. The Witcher 3 forgoes multiplayer and quick-time events

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will be released sometime in 2014 for next-gen consoles and the PC, will forgo both multiplayer capabilities as well as quick-time events. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz and CD Projekt RED (the developer of The Witcher 3) spoke with Forbes about The Witcher 3 and they stated that the game had no place for multiplayer. HTC Chairwoman will donate tablets to young women in Southeast Asia

HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang announced at a forum that she will be donating 100,000 tablets to young women in Southeast Asia. The tablets will be used to further the education of women throughout the region in hopes of promoting gender equality there. Wang made the announcement at a World Bank open forum held in Washington. Mark Zuckerberg claims salary and bonus pay reduced to minimum

In a recent SEC filing, it was discovered that Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg will only be taking a $1 salary this year. He will also be rejecting any potential bonuses he may receive this year as well. While the SEC filing confirms that he will only be making a dollar this year, Zuckerberg first revealed he would be taking a dollar salary in Facebook's IPO filing. Read The Full Story

iMessage bug omits last word of specific messages

A bug plaguing the iMessage instant messaging feature on iOS and Mac OS X devices omits the last word of certain messages after the instant message is sent and received. This issue affects both the iPhone as well as Macs, and it appears to both the sender and the receiver. So far, The Verge has discovered two phrases that seem to be affected by the issue. The first phrase being anything that involves President Barack Obama's name, and the second affecting the phrase, "The best prize is a surprise." Read The Full Story

2013 Nissan Altima recalled due to potential spare tire issue

Nissan has issued another recall for its 2013 Nissan Altima sedan due to a potential issue regarding the Altima's spare tire. The company filed a document with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, stating that 123,308 of its 2013 Nissan Altima's potentially have spare tires that are significantly over-inflated or under-flated. Nissan says that Altimas built between March 21, 2012 and March 26, 2013 are potentially affected. Read The Full Story

AOL has announced that it will be shutting down its entire music division. AOL's music division had been struggling for quite some time, especially since most users opt for more popular music services like Spotify and Pandora. Uruguay scientists genetically modify sheeps to glow in the dark

Scientists in Uruguay modified the genes of sheep using the fluorescent protein from an Aequarea jelly fish, causing the sheep to glow-in-the-dark. The sheep were born last October at the Animal Reproduction Institute of Uruguay. The sheep glow when they are exposed to certain ultraviolet light, emitting a glowing green color. Aside from glowing in the dark, Uruguay scientists assures everyone that these sheep are developing normally. Read The Full Story

EVE Online will turn players’ stories into comics and a TV series

At the annual EVE Online Fanfest, CCP, the publisher of EVE Online, stated that it's going to spice things up for EVE Online players. It will soon be turning the stories of real players into professionally made comic books as well as a TV series. Players will have to submit their stories to EVE Online's True Stories competition before the May 1st deadline. PlayStation Vita game Soul Sacrifice helps boost sales for the game console

PlayStation Vita sales in Japan have experienced some good growth since last month, and most of it is thanks to the launch of a new game called Soul Sacrifice. The game debuted on March 7th in Japan, and it sold 105,000 units within its first week. It is estimated to have sold a total of 180,000 units through April 13th. Activision CEO Robert Kotick named one of the top paid CEOs in U.S. [Update]

Robert Kotick, who is currently the CEO of Activision Blizzard, and who was also the director/CEO of Activision from February 1991 to July 2008, has been named one of the top paid CEOs in the United States. Kotick 's compensation increased to $64.9 million in 2012. In a recent regulatory filing discovered by Reuters, a majority of Kotick's huge compensation comes from stock rewards totaling $55,915,738. Honda recalls 44,000 Honda Fit Sport vehicles to upgrade security systems

Honda has issued a recall for 43,782 of its 2012-2013 Honda Fit Sport vehicles all across the United States. The recalls has been issued so that the company can upgrade the vehicles' Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) software. The current software on the 2012-2013 Honda Fits may function improperly, allowing Honda Fits with certain tires to exceed the yaw rates allowed by the U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
