PlayBook gets OS Update, Not the One We Were Waiting For

BlackBerry PlayBook owners can now update their Tablet OS to v1.0.5. This free over-the-air update was announced by RIM yesterday, and is the second update to BlackBerry’s new Tablet OS. The update included some needed features like the ability to charge your PlayBook while the device is powered down. The new features look like a good addition to the PlayBook, but this update does not include all the updates and fixes we would have liked to see.

Waterfield Designs announced today it is unveiling its Keyboard Travel Express. Designed with the wireless Apple Keyboard in mind, the Travel Express can hold wireless keyboards and accessories from other manufacturers as well. Measuring 13 x 7 x 1 inches, the Keyboard Travel Express is available in six colors. It can hold the Apple Wireless Keyboard, the power adapter, and the mouse, SuperDrive or TrackPad. Designed with the wireless Apple Keyboard in mind, the Travel Express can hold wireless keyboards and accessories from other manufacturers as well.

RED Scarlet Releases Sample Footage

The RED Scarlet is still a prototype even though it was originally announced about two and a half years ago. To dedicated RED fans that is probably no big deal when they are looking forward to a camera with HDRx functionality. After all, this is a camera that can capture video at 3072 x 1620 RAW resolutions. The long awaited sample video released today was at 120 fps, and yes, every frame at that same screen splitting resolution.

Sony Announces 3D Bombshell at E3 2011

Before Sony’s Jack Tretton took the stage today at E3, we got to see a game montage that highlighted many of the games to be released this year. When the audience was cued to put their glasses on, it was clear 3D was going to be featured by Sony at E3 this year. Resistance 3, Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception, and many other titles are coming out in 3D. Jack also announced that other titles like the God of War Origins collection will be re-released later this year in 3D. Overall, Sony plans on having over 100 3D titles available in the next year. Sony wants to show they are serious about the 3D experience.

Rayman Origins from Ubisoft at E3

Rayman Origins is the newest in the franchise where Rayman and blue friend named Globox are back for some more action in this zany arcade style side-scroller. The demo opens with Rayman and his large blue friend chasing a large decorative treasure chest. Well, we are not sure exactly what it is. The chest looks like a barbeque, and also a little like the Arc of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Arc, but eventually does turn out to be a treasure chest.

FIFA 12 Football Club Reveal from E3

When Matt Bilbey, Vice President of football for EA, took the stage at E3 today, we had no idea what that would mean for FIFA fans: the new Tactical Defending, the Player Impact Engine, and the biggest announcement of all the new EA Sports Football Club. Definitely some exciting announcements from EAs Matt stated, Football is the “world’s game.” Set to release on September 30th, FIFA 12 looks to deliver not only better game play, but also new social integration that will be cross-platform and also free (the club, not the game).

Need For Speed The Run Details From E3

Need for speed has long been one of the most well known racing franchises. Today at E3, EA revealed some new details that will not only build on traditional elements of the game, but also add some new twists that may potentially revitalize the game. The Autolog feature is now integrated directly into the game, so every second counts toward, or possibly against, your stats. The biggest surprise came when they announced on-foot scenes will be added to the gameplay.
