Rocksmith changes the guitar-sim world by introducing a game where you actually play a real life guitar, not a controller. Rocksmith and Just Dance 3, two new Games from Ubisoft at E3 2011
Rayman Origins from Ubisoft at E3
Rayman Origins is the newest in the franchise where Rayman and blue friend named Globox are back for some more action in this zany arcade style side-scroller. The demo opens with Rayman and his large blue friend chasing a large decorative treasure chest. Well, we are not sure exactly what it is. The chest looks like a barbeque, and also a little like the Arc of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Arc, but eventually does turn out to be a treasure chest.

FIFA 12 Football Club Reveal from E3
When Matt Bilbey, Vice President of football for EA, took the stage at E3 today, we had no idea what that would mean for FIFA fans: the new Tactical Defending, the Player Impact Engine, and the biggest announcement of all the new EA Sports Football Club. Definitely some exciting announcements from EAs Matt stated, Football is the “world’s game.” Set to release on September 30th, FIFA 12 looks to deliver not only better game play, but also new social integration that will be cross-platform and also free (the club, not the game).

Need For Speed The Run Details From E3
Need for speed has long been one of the most well known racing franchises. Today at E3, EA revealed some new details that will not only build on traditional elements of the game, but also add some new twists that may potentially revitalize the game. The Autolog feature is now integrated directly into the game, so every second counts toward, or possibly against, your stats. The biggest surprise came when they announced on-foot scenes will be added to the gameplay.

Disney Partners with Microsoft to bring Theme Park to Xbox
Now anyone in the world can visit the Walt Disney theme park, even if it is only in the virtual world. At E3 this morning, the new Disneyland Adventures release was confirmed for the Kinect. It is a children’s themed title that appears to be a collection of mini-games based on the real world theme park. Even though it is cartoony and geared at younger audiences, it looks like anyone who enjoys the Disney theme for a casual gaming experience should like this game.

Star Wars coming to Xbox Kinect
Star Wars fans the wait is over. Microsoft is bringing a Star Wars title to the Xbox lineup. Although not clear on the exact title, it appears to be simply Star Wars Kinect. The body control of the Kinect puts you in direct control of the action. Not clear on the voice control capability, they didn’t show any voice control functions in today’s reveal. What we did see looks very promising, and we are looking forward to getting our hands on the demo.

Activision Announces Call of Duty Elite Beta to Launch July 14
Activision announced today that the Call of Duty Elite Beta will launch July 14th 2011. The date of the full launch has yet to be announced, but the invitation only Beta will start next month. With over one million Call of Duty fans signed up for the beta so far, there are literally “millions” watching this launch. Not much has been leaked about the new “Elite” experience, but we were able to find a few details in the press release this morning.

LG Revolution LTE Review
With all the Android smartphones to choose from, the field of competition is getting a little crowded. However, the 4G battle field has a much lower population. (There is a separate battle about what 4G actually means. See the SlashGear 4G section for more on that discussion). Now LG is bringing the newly released Revolution to the battlefield. The Revolution was released on Verizon’s LTE network. Since the Revolution is only the third LTE phone, there is even less competition on the LTE playing field. It is no secret that we love the speeds possible on LTE, but does the Revolution have what it takes to compete with the glossy hi-def display of the Droid Charge, or the performance of the HTC ThunderBolt? First Sony and now PBS: Look out Big Bird
LuzSec, the group that preciously took credit for hacking the website for Sony BMG in Japan, has claimed credit for cracking PBS’s website and posting all of its login credentials. According to LuzSec, they were “less than impressed” with the Frontline coverage of the WikiLeaks special entitled WikiSectrets. Is Elmo next? Who knows what Oscar the Grouch has hidden away in that trash can of his. Apparently LuzSec was not the only one critical of the WikiLeaks special. Destroy the Planet by Watering a Plant
That’s right, the winners of this year’s Rube Goldberg award created a machine that destroyed the world as we know it, just to water a plant. Every year, Geeks and Techies gather to compete in the Rube Goldberg awards, where the winner accomplishes a task using the most steps possible. (They must be applying for a government job). Many people are familiar with the contraptions built in old cartoons to accomplish menial tasks in complex ways, but were not aware that those contraptions are Rube Goldberg machines. Old school gamers are undoubtedly looking forward to the upcoming release of Ninja Gaiden 3 (also as Ninja Gaiden III or NG3). Not many details have been leaked about the game that many feel will most likely revitalize or bury the Ninja Gaiden franchise. It is set to be released for the PS3 and Xbox consoles. We got the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 in our hands early, to get the skinny on this laptop targeted for the business user. This slim black laptop looks good on the outside, but like Mom used to say “It’s what’s inside that counts.” With rumors of Intel Core i7 processors and solid state drives, we were looking forward to checking things out.
