Have I ever mentioned that I’m proud to live in the USA? All too often we are hearing about other countries getting games months after we do, or even worse, having some games censored or not released at all due to the nature of the content. One such example would be the Australian release of Grand Theft Auto IV.

GTA: IV

While we do not know the full details yet, RockStar has confirmed that they have “produced a special version of GTA IV to comply with the Australian classification system, which does not currently contain an R18+ rating.”

Australia needs to hurry up and get that R18+ rating in place so that adult gamers can enjoy games with adult themes and violence. Seriously, there is no reason why a game like this shouldn’t be made available to consenting adults. Looks like Australian gamers will be forced to either import the game or turn to piracy if they want to play the real game.
