By "look really cool", do you mean in kind of an 80's retro way, to go along with those "cool" metal grate snap-together cube organizers that used to always fall apart?

Audio geek points for using passive radiators...
Audio geek fail however in that geeks know do the same thing as vents, and non-audio-geeks won't know what passive radiators are... audio geek eyebrow raiser also, since they are so small (and therefore low moving mass), they won't establish a low tuning frequency - a vent would also be more efficient in this application. Sad to say, the use of passive radiators has been done in the past to pull a bit if a scam - people see the drone cones and think they've got more speakers than they've really got.

Maybe it's just the pictures in my screen - but from a domestics standpoint, these won't be the speakers your wife says "Oh, those are pleasantly acceptable". They still look entirely and unmistakeably like plain 'ol black computer speakers... a little red isn't enough lipstick on the pig to satiate a housewife who was picky enough to complain about your current set of speakers to begin with. She'll see these as every bit as equal to whatever you have now.
