In fact I think they should aim for Windows Phone 8, and make it so forward thinking platform, that they could keep it current for a couple of years. There is nothing grand in Windows Phone 7, and I think Nokia needs something GRAND now.

I was disappointed in Nokias decision to go with Windows instead of Meego, but there is one very strong aspect in Windows mobile platform: its multi -manufacturer platform, BUT in same time its one device in software developers perspective. That means it can spread like Androids, but it can be unified and consistent at the same time. For me the applications is only reason to buy smart phone, and Windows Phone will be strong app market place. And future connectivity to XBox360-720 will only make it stronger.

Make N8 successor be the first phone, with at least as good camera, and you have a GRAND come back.

And make some musical applications too.

Makes sense to me...
If services like Ovi maps are intgrated into WP7 phones from all OEMs, then it only makes sense for Nokia to create mindshare in their favour.

That aside, I really hope they get off their chairs soon and start delivering- or else, its all pointless. Nokia will simply die a most pointless death if consumers dont see a WP7 Nokia device in 2011.
