AT&T U-Verse customers can now get Facebook TV app

In some areas, fans of TV can get access to their favorite shows via AT&T U-Verse. Sadly, my area isn't one of the served U-Verse areas so from outside using satellite or small-town cable networks, U-Verse sounds very interesting. Customers not only the get TV shows via a cable box, AT&T also allows access via other devices such as the Xbox 360.

AT&T has announced a new TV app for U-Verse customers that will allow you to keep up with family and friends right from your TV. AT&T now has an app for Facebook on TV that will allow you to check out Facebook while you're watching your favorite TV programs. The app allows users to view newsfeed, friends lists, and photos.

The app also allows the user to post status updates and share information about TV shows they're watching. Users can also interact with friends and you a friends timeline, photos, and status updates. For homes with multiple people using Facebook, the app supports multiple accounts.

U-Verse customers can add 10 different accounts on a single receiver. Obviously, you'll need a Facebook account and high-speed Internet access via U-Verse to be to access Facebook. It looks like AT&T is hoping that this Facebook app will help users promote U-Verse two local friends via social networking.
