Worth Reading?

NoYes

I’m not sure how anyone could possibly still be using an old TDMA phone. Then again there are still people leasing phones from the 50’s out there, so I guess I can believe anything. For those that are, you’re going to get an unwelcome price hike.

AT&T has recently announced that the price for using an old TDMA phone has gone up by $5 per month. Granted, that’s not a huge increase in price, but that’s to keep a really old phone with very limited features and soon, very limited coverage. Why the price hike? AT&T is ready to be done with those old phones, it’s likely costing them more to keep the signals going than they make from the customers still using it.

I highly doubt that anyone using an old TDMA phone reads tech blogs on a regular basis, however, if you know someone that still has one, advise them to get off of it. Even if it’s the greatest TDMA phone in the world, it’s not worth it. Not to mention there will come a time when AT&T gets fed up and just pulls the plug.
