I tried WP7 in the store about a year ago and found it very easy to use. The latest Nokia phone is miles better, so I hear. I used to be a Microsoft hater, but Microsoft has been getting much better lately. If MS WP7 integrates with its servers, Win8 laptops, tablets and xBox, this could be a winner.

Me to, am android user, got bugged , recently I tried lumia 800, amazing phone , well organized neat work much better then android, :) I had 15 k so bought of lumia 710 :)

I had an iphone 4s and returned it because out was sluggish and overall lackluster. People just want the apple brand which is really narrowminded. I now own a samsung galaxy s 2 which is better but I’m still wanting a lumia instead.

With the amount of money that AT&T, Nokia & Microsoft are putting into this, I would be shocked if it didn’t gain significant traction. Some are right that there are plenty that feel like they’ve invested so much time into Apple gear that they’d never switch, but I’ve seen the windows OS, and it’s easy to operate and beautiful to see. Most importantly, the phone punches WAAAAY above it’s weight for $99, and once people try it, they will love it. I know someone who has a prototype, and it’s a sweet ride. I was actually suprised that it was so inexpensive, but I suppose Nokia’s got to do that to a). create an incentive to get people to switch smartphone OS’s and b). convince people to finally upgrade to a bonified smart phone.

This from someone that’s had Apple phones for 2.5 yrs…

Android didn’t have many apps in the beginning eaither. If this lauch goes well, I think you will see developers taking the WP7 platform seriously and those apps will be there within a year.

Iphone had plenty of glitches and bugs. People just seem to give apple a break on those things. You are associating this phone with the desktop os. WP7 has had good reviews and generally positive costomer satisaftion scores. Try it out before you judge it based on paste experience with Microsoft products. Microsoft has been putting out some really good products for the past few years.

Any Amazon or phone review that has Windows Phone OS in it, they rave about how it is to use.I was just in AT&T store this past weekend and they really have been served up by Mircosoft.For any naysayers, or tech nerds, the OS has never crashed on me and does just about everything I need it for. Android OS is great and powerful but reminds of WIndows XP. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing.

The only problem, is AT&T.
Nokia and Microsoft would be just fine on their own, they need only worry about AT&T creating all of the negative customer care/service issues.

I love the lumia 900. I used both the samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket and the iphone 4s. I left my iphone and switched the the lumia 900 still using the galaxy s2 skyrocket as well.. Everyone has an iphone and its getting old especially how apple is bringing out devices that are exactly the same with one or two differences. It’s been a while since they have released anything actually NEW. I had doubts of changing to WP7 because of the marketplace but it hasn’t been that bad. I was the first one to talk people out of getting a windows phone but it was only because I wasn’t educated on the software and never really used one.

I’ve had an iphone since the very first day the first generation iphone came out. I never thought I would leave my iphone especially for a windows… this device did it though.

This is me exactly. Looking to move on to WP7.5 and Lumia 900 after 4 years on iPhone. I don’t like Android’s fragmentation and how quickly their phones come and go, iOS 5 is sluggish on my iPhone4, and Apple has been too slow in increasing their screen size. I’m due for AT&T contract renewal now. My smartphone needs are mostly business related and I want to easily coordinate with software I use on my PC. I have a lot of apps but use only 10% of them on a regular basis and have been able to find that most of those are already available for WP. Can’t wait to touch a 900 tomorrow.

I have been dying to go to WP7 from Android, and if one is to make the switch from any OS to WP7, this seems like the best phone to get. The only thing that makes me hesitant is the fact that a few big times apps are missing from their Marketplace.

The phone is nice. It’s not as pricey as the iphone, and be honest, everybody and their dog have iphones. The screen is great, the UI is simple and it’s not as complicated as Android.
I think it’s a greaat offer for people who primarily want a PHONE and only use smart features (maps, mail, web, foto) secondly.
Also a Galaxy S2 owner here, and I HATE what ICS on the SGS2 looks like…

It all depends whether the product works or NOT; sic firmware patches and WP bug fixes galore.
AT&T may break records for the number of product returns if things go sour.
WP7 is still not the finished article, and has some way to go.

Nokia NEED the 900 to succeed if they are to make any headway with the Elop Windows strategy.
If it bombs, then Nokia need a fall back position, and probably a new CEO.

But will they be enough? I want to see WP7 succeed and Nokia to make a strong enough comeback to remain viable and keep innovating. I hope this isnt their last gasp so to speak.

Given the number of cheap crappy Android phones that have been sold over the past two years, I would say there a huge potential for Android users to switch to WP7 when they re-new given that they actually know about WP7. Thanks to a real marketing push, they will know about it. I don’t think there will be a big bleed off from iOS but Android is ripe for the picking. I have converted some people from iOS to WP7 and they have been happy with it. So it is possible for a few. I’ve had too many faces light up when I show them WP7 for me to write them off so quickly.

For the record, I own a Galaxy SII.

Is it the biggest by advertisement budget or sales figures? AT&T, Microsoft and Nokia combined will spend $200 million on ads alone. Most companies have that kind of budget for year worth of advertisement not launch week ads.

I say good luck with that one. The iPhone sold itself. ATT hardly lifted a finger until their servers imploded.

People who want WP7 already have it (best.media.player.EVER.), so the newcomers wont be that many.

It isnt so much Nokia’s fault or ATTs. This release is just so “late in the game” that there cant conceivably be a huge shift away from other OSes toward WP7 no matter how beautiful this phone is.

People who want feature phones arent going to grab these because they are too advanced. People who love Android arent going for it. People who love iPhones cant be bothered with anything else.

So who is left? People who want smart phones but dont want to pay huge money for a phone, minus those who dont want to pay big money for a smartphone plan… plus Nokia loyal and WP7 loyals, minus those burned time and time again by ATT. That doesnt leave many.
