Dont own an Xbox360, but they should integrate Xbox Live into WP7. Allow people on their way home from work, give an ETA on when they can join the team. Allow parents to listen in on the foul language their kids are using.

Yes, MS should go for the low and mid range but they also need a Halo phone, like GM has the Volt. Just spend an insane amount of money on the Windows Phone 8 version. Sell it at a loss just for the technical nod. Then, once they have the respect, they can sell the low and mid range phones like crazy.

Don’t worry MS fans, the real goal is to bring Windows 8 (or 9) to the phone. Forget smart phone, we are talking super phone. Don’t think that is possible? Check out the next shrink for Intel – 14 nm 3D super chip (less than two years from going to full production). That is when all devices can run Windows. One OS – Every device. That, dear fanboys, is the plan and nobody, nobody has an answer for that. MS dominates for yet another decade after that.

This is what I think WP7 should be going after, the mid to low range market. Not because it’s an incapable OS, but just because Android and iOS are so entrenched already. Build some market share and THEN try to overtake the giants.
