Flash in the pan or not, this is not the first or last time a telecom company will attempt to jump into the security market. The thing is, they are relying on wireless technology which is proven Sub par and service ridden. Furthermore, similar but more reliable equipment from long time security alarms mfg's elk and HAI can give you the same features and control without the outragious additional monthly fee's charged for this service.

If you remember, AT&T jumped in and out of the security alarm industry a number of years ago. This left individuals with sub par panels that needed to be replaced. More cost in the long run.
