Sucks they're losing jobs, but given their small customer base, 7 call centers are probably too many, let alone having enough to close 7. As a Tmobile customer, I wanted nothing to do with ATT and their crappy service and deplorable customer service. prices would have gone up, service down, and they would have just waited a year and eliminated the jobs anyway, not to mention eliminating the Tmobile stores that affected established ATT stores. Anyone that believes they would leave a Tmobile store 30ft from an ATT store in every mall in America is an idiot. Again, sucks people are losing their jobs, but call centers are even less stable than retail jobs. I live in Cleveland, which isn't exactly economically stable and there's more jobs available to qualified people than people to fill them, so i'm sure most displaced won't have much trouble finding something if they live within reasonable distance of a large city. If all else fails, its a perfect excuse to go back to school.

I wish AT&T would focus more on customer service instead of this. Simple things like offering timely upgrades to Windows Phone on a timely basis. Instead you can't find anyone who has a clue. If I was Microsoft, I would be very concerned as this is a major limiting factor to customer sat on their product - which are good and should be improving.
