…seriously? He agreed to a deal which he was CONVINCED he wasn’t going to lose (likely due to lobbying), lost his ass, and now it’s T-MOBILE’S FAULT that HE made a bad, illegal deal????

So where does the 75% per year increase in bandwidth figure come from? Is this from new network users or are existing users that are already restricted by data caps going to plop down $10/gig to keep up with this projection?

Although I think he’s twisting the facts, its partially true…but its mostly AT&T fault in the first place! They were depending on taking over T Mobile spectrum for LTE, instead they now have to tear down their current HSPA+ network which was outdated years ago to now put up new towers and reposition old ones. But with profit margins in the billions, I’m having a difficult time reaching down for those tears

Sure, most of these companies either are monopolies or were monopolies until only a couple of decades ago. E.g. France Telecom was basically state-owned until 2004. Not surprising that there is a dearth of competition. And also not surprising that AT&T wants its own old monopolistic advantage back. It’s difficult to see how this would be good for customers though.

Backtrack 6 months. AT&T/T-Mobile merger approved. Then fast forward 6 months from there….AT&T/T-Mobile merger blamed for price increases.
