Just more dribble by Chris Burns, without really providing anything meaningful. It's actually quite humorous this is considered a story. This hardly even seems the case, the same amount of information could have been conveyed in 1 sentence. In fact,
"Oakland Police Department has forced AT&T to shutdown a number of 2G towers due to supposed interference in Oakland, but nobody really knows what the real problem is." would have easily sufficed, and conveyed the exact same amount of information as above.

Do these writers even have a clue anymore? I know Chris Burns is an Apple sucking whore that really seems to have almost no journalistic skills, much less a unbiased point of view when it comes to technology which is what he writes about, but I really keep hoping for the sake of humanity that there is some amount of requirements needed in order to run a site like Dailytech. Although, as usual, time after time it shows that this is apparently not the truth. And judging by the one link provided in the article, Burnsy didn't even bother reading the whole article! No mention of the fact that Sprint moved the network to a new set of frequencies for OPD back in 2011 so there was no interference with the Sprint networks....

So much for this being a technical site....more like a slide back into being a non-technical 'the sky is falling!' site.

WHERE THE HELL IS THE TECHNICAL INFO!??!?!?

This is slash gear. Whose fault it is comes down to who is leaking out of their spectrum. If OPD is trying to use spectrum that isn't theirs, then they're wrong, if ATT is in the OPD's space, it's their fault.
