Atlona have unveiled their latest A/V convertor, this time intended to take high-definition video sources and convert them into a format suitable for standard displays.  The Atlona AT-HD530 includes HDMI and DVI inputs and can down-convert to analog S-Video or composite video with audio.

There’s also an HDMI/DVI loop for preserving a full-quality signal, and the box supports not only 1080p for HDTVs but up to UXGA (1600 x 1200 at 60Hz) resolution from PCs or Macs.  Both PAL and NTSC are supported.

Niche?  Yes, but useful to those in the know.  The Atlona AT-HD530 will go on sale in late August, priced at $299.
