Asus Zenbook Flip notebook lands in the US packing 512GB SSD

Asus has taken to making some interesting notebooks that it is aiming directly at Apple and other high-end devices. The latest Asus notebook to launch in the US is the Zenbook Flip convertible notebook computer that can be used as a tablet. Asus has launched the machine in the US with two configurations, though the higher end UX360CA-DBM2T version is the only one in stock directly from Asus right now.

The retail price on that available Zenbook Flip notebook is $799. For the money, you get a convertible notebook computer that packs a 13.3-inch touchscreen that is LED backlit and has resolution of 1920 x 1080. The processor is an Intel Core M 6Y30 and 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. An Intel HD Graphics 515 integrated processor handles graphics.

Storage is via a 512GB SSD that will make for fast boot ups and program loading when needed. The keyboard has the familiar chicklet style that we have come to be used to on notebooks from various makers. Other features of the notebook include a 1.2MP HD webcam, multi-format memory card reader, WiFi, WiDi, Bluetooth, and a pair of USB 3.0 ports.

The machine does have a single USB-C Gen 1 port, SDXC reader, and a headphone output and microphone input. Power comes from a 3-cell 54Whrs battery and the machine weighs 1.3kg with the battery. The OS on both of these machines is Windows 10. The second configuration sells for $699 and the savings comes in an SSD with only 256GB of storage, all other features appear to be identical. The model number for the cheaper Zenbook Flip configuration is UX360CA-UBM1T. There is no indication of when the cheaper configuration might be available to purchase.
