Asus VivoTab Note 8 tablet confirmed by user manual leak

Last month rumors started to circulate that Asus was working on a new Windows tablet. The rumors claim the device is called the VivoTab Note 8. Along with the name of the tablet, some specifications were also leaked including the use of Windows for the operating system and an 8-inch screen.

If those facts are accurate, it would make this the first 8-inch Windows tablet from Asus. The tablet was also tipped to use an active digitizer. Pricing was also tipped to be around $299. The tablet in the leaks carries part number M80TA.

The tablet has now been confirmed after Asus published the user manual for the tablet to its website. Other rumors suggest that the tablet will use an Intel Atom Z3740 quad-core processor and have 2GB of RAM. The tablet is also tipped to get up to 64GB of storage.

The 8-inch screen is expected to have a resolution of 1280 x 800. Other features that are rumored include front and rear cameras, a dedicated stylus, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. We expect to hear more about the tablet at CES 2014 next week.
