asusn50vnIt’s a touchscreen sort of day, it seems! Even so, it looks like ASUS is going to bring their touch-tech to a wider range of consumers as early as the beginning of next year.

In addition to their current line of touch netbooks, the Eee PCs, ASUS will be launching a touch panel line of notebooks soon. While limited touch support will be included at first, it will primarily be focused around Windows 7, which is set to be released in late 2009 or early 2010.

ASUS hasn’t decided the size of the touch panels yet, though it is likely they will go with AU Optronics and Chi Mei Optoelectronics 11.6 or 12.1-inch varieties. As always, though, we’ll just have to wait and see how it pans out.
