ASUS teases their new, curved smartwatch design

ASUS, who make all kinds of electronics you might want to have, are bringing another one to the fold. We've known their smartwatch was in the works for some time, and even that we'd be seeing it at IFA this year. Via the Facebook page, we get a look at what this new watch might look like, and we think you're going to like what you see.

As you can see from the sketches above and below, ASUS isn't taking the traditional route. Many smartwatch OEMs do the square/rectangle thing, or the round thing. ASUS is combining that effort and giving us a rectangular design with rounded corners. If the goal is to have a smartwatch on your wrist, this covers that base better than the rest, aesthetically speaking.

We also see ASUS has taken care of another complaint many have about smartwatches: comfort. Theirs looks to be curved, which would conform a bit better to your wrist. It would also ease the annoyance of a watch corner smacking a table, or tugging on your pants as you take your hand out of a pocket.

We can safely assume this will be Android Wear, and the curved corners don't look severe enough to take anything away from the software and apps (think Moto 360 and the 'flat tire' screen). Whether or not it's an adequate offering for Android Wear remains to be seen, but we'll all find out on September 3 this year.
