Asus getting netbook with mobile phone module ready

I think we can all agree that having to pay for a mobile data plan for your smartphone and then having to pay for another mobile data plan if you want your netbook to connect on the go is not fun. Unfortunately, for many of us, some carriers and devices don't support tethering.

Asus is reportedly working on a new netbook that could tackle this issue. The netbook has a phone module that slips into a slot on the netbook to allow the user a mobile phone with data connectivity and a netbook with connectivity as well.

This sounds like a good idea, assuming the smartphone section of the device is worth using. This device will fail if the phone portion is not up to par and Asus doesn't exactly have the best reputation for building usable and popular mobile phones.
