Remember ASUS' G73 gaming notebook, announced back at CES 2010 last month?  The Core i7-720QM machine has finally gone on sale, in the shape of the ASUS G73JH-X1, with Newegg offering the notebook for $1,449.99.  That gets you distinctive "Stealth Fighter" looks, 8GB of memory and a 17.3-inch Full HD display.

There's also a 500GB hard-drive, 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 video chipset and – perhaps a little disappointingly – a DVD burner.  We'd have liked to have seen a Blu-ray drive in there instead, but we'll make do with gigabit ethernet, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth and an HDMI output.

No word on how long you can expect the 8-cell battery to last if you're really hammering your gaming, but we don't reckon it's a good idea to leave the power supply at home.  After all, with the ASUS G73JH-X1 tipping the scales at 8lbs, your poor weak shoulders aren't going to notice a PSU on top of that, are they.
