The ASUS Eee All-in-One Touchscreen PC (aka the Eee Monitor, aka the Eee Top) may be still listed as pre-order only at retailers, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped EeePCnews.de from getting some hands-on video of the 15.6-inch desktop PC.  Like the netbooks, it looks to prize usability over anything complex, with the so-called EasyMode touchable GUI on top of Windows XP.

Behind the scenes there’s not too much in the way of power – Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB 5,400rpm hard-drive, in fact - but then the expectation isn’t that you’ll be dealing with high-definition entertainment like you might with HP’s TouchSmart IQ800.  Instead think kitchen counter and casual web-browsing.

I’m actually more excited about this than I have been over a netbook for some time.  Pre-orders are being taken now for £399.99 ($686).
