Under XP the touchscreen shows up as another mouse; there’s a digitizer option but it’s only available when you’re running Vista.

No Linux prebuild option on the Eee Top as far as I know.

I really like the et1602. unfortunately there are two drawbacks:
1. the asus “easy mode” software simply is crap. you can not change it in any way. adding/removing applications is not possible
2. the graphic chip has problems under linux. only vesa mode works at the moment (18.12.08)

Can you check how the touchscreen shows up under Windows Device Manager? Is it just another mouse or are there special drivers? Did you get an option to have Linux on it?

Maybe Chris Davies can check the device manager for me?

As standard, no, there are no VESA mount holes. The user guide does refer to an optional “Wall Mount Pad” which screws into the holes that the stand/handle are fixed to and offers a standard VESA 75 mount, but I can’t find it for sale online anywhere.

Great review, one question I didn’t see answered – is there any way to mount it on a walll? I don’t see any VESA mount holes on the back. Could you just install some hooks in a wall and “hang” it by the handle on top?

Dreamer_uk, have you tried stretching the on-screen keyboard? Click or tap on one of the side panels and pull to resize – you can have it as large or as small as you like (plus you can change transparency in its settings).
