ASUS have announced a new Eee PC, specifically for the Japanese market. The ASUS Eee PC 1003HAG’s claim to fame is integrated WWAN that supports NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA network, offering up to 7.2Mbps downlink rates. Otherwise it’s pretty much in line with other recent Eee PCs, with Intel’s Atom N280 processor and 1GB of RAM.
Other specs include WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR as standard, together with a 160GB hard-drive and integrated graphics. The display measures 10-inches and runs at WSVGA resolution.
Battery life is rated at up to 4.3hrs, and the Eee PC 1003HAG is available in three colors: white, black or pink. It’ll arrive in Japan on May 16th, priced at 69,800 yen ($727), but don’t expect to see this particular Eee variant available anywhere else.
