ASUS Japan have announced their latest netbook, the ASUS Eee PC 1002HAE.  Based on Intel’s Atom N280 1.66GHz processor, the 1002HAE otherwise takes the chassis of the Eee PC 1002HA and redresses it in red, blue or gray aluminum and a longer name.  Under the hood there’s the same 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard-drive, together with a battery ASUS claim is good for up to 3.8hrs of runtime.

The display remains at 10-inches 1024 x 600 resolution, and there are three USB 2.0 ports, ethernet, audio in/out and VGA output.  Wireless connectivity includes WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and there’s also a memory card reader.

ASUS bundle 10GB of their online Eee Storage for a year, and the 1002HAE runs Windows XP Home.  It measures 264 x 181 x 27.6mm and tips the scales at 1.2kg, pretty much the same as the 1002HA.  It’ll go on sale in Japan on May 16th, priced at 49,800 yen ($505).
