The ASUS Eee PC 1000HE has shown up in a variety of new colors, including the rather fetching brushed-aluminum finish you see here. In fact the 10.2-inch netbook will apparently be offered in six different colors: black, white, brushed-silver, blue, pink and onyx.

The Eee PC 1000HE began shipping a week ago, priced at $374. That gets you Intel’s Atom N280 1.66Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB 5,400rpm hard-drive and GMA950 graphics. There’s also WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and “chiclet” keyboard. ASUS are particularly proud of the 1000HE’s runtime, which is up to a claimed 9.5hrs from the 6-cell 8700mAh battery.
SlashGear have got an ASUS Eee PC 1000HE in for review right now – sadly in dull old black – and we’re currently putting it through its paces. You can see the unboxing video and hands-on first impressions here.

My head is so about to explode over choosing a netbook. I am leaning toward the HE now I come to learn there is a potential brushed option.
Can someone please tell me for sure when the brushed option comes out, who will carry it and if it will be at a premium price???
Lastly, plastic or real aluminum – heavier?

Thanks!

Hi Mainstay,
Unfortunately we don’t yet know much about the new color options. However as soon as we hear anything, it will be on the SlashGear frontpage :)
