I wonder if it will have a multi trackpad unlike Motorola’s dock for the Atrix, its one feature that isn’t mentioned but I would love to have when using the keyboard.

There are apps (or will be apps) that can replace all those windows programs. And if you need to use a windows program on the go, use something like TeamViewer to access your home computer. That’s what I do with my netbook (which runs windows but isn’t real fast) and my DROID2.

Hopefully people will get smart and stop putting OSes like windows on tablets before really optimizing it for touch input and battery life.

re windows devices – isn’t the hardware still not yet ready for windows even for NVIDIA Tegra2?
running Honeycomb will be super fast but what about dear old windows, where you can run ALL your PC soft?

Saw an advertisement in Ottawa local store (PC cyber), saying that the expected arrival date is April 18 2011.

This is just the evolution of the netbook that Asus created. . . it’s evolved and more flexible. We will see this form factor more and more especially with Windows tablets. It’ll be a standard design in the future for netbooks and laptops as we will all want a combination of easily portable display for touch when we want a tablet and a highly functional netbook/laptop when we need to get real work done while still maintaining portability for both.

Increase functionality through design/form. . . not decreased like that fruity thing out there.

Sounds like Asus might have bought out TouchBook. They had a similar idea 2-3 years ago using linux OS. They made 10,000 for market testing … haven’t seen any or heard of their existance anymore.
Have you tested one of the Transformers yet? Looking forward to your skeptics review like you did on ipad2 earlier or your latest … wanting multiple accounts for family sharing and more nuisance notifications to keep track of your busy life.

One website listed May 6th as the official release date, but that ASUS would probably release earlier. The fact that Best Buy and NewEgg already have websites for the TF101 would also indicate that the release is within the next month. JR already has a website for the keyboard docking station.

I’m hoping for an earlier release. I stopped by my local Best Buy today to inquire, given the Asus duct tape jab at Ipad. They said that BB has an exclusive deal to release the Acer Iconia tablet before any of the other new tablets. Also said that BB has extensively tested the new tabs, and have decided there are only 10 they will carry (I assume that includes Xoom and Ipad).
