Still no sign of UK release or price (that I can find) but as someone pointed out you can prob charge it via USB so should still work over here. Interested to see how you get on.

I’m interested in buying the new ASUS Eee Pad Memo 7-inch . When will it be available in the UK – any ideas please? Also, we’re off to Florida in May – if I bought one there, would it work normally over here on our return, or is it better to wait and buy over here?

This is very good news. This was something that I was hoping for a few months back – affordable, Tegra 3 tablets. The more competition the better. It will put pressure on all the vendors to deliver quality products as an excellent price.

I never cared to purchase ANY tablet because it just seemed like a pointless buy to me, BUT this is not me spending $500 on a gadget that I might use a few times. This actually a powerful piece of kit for an amazing price that I fully intend to use.

I’m anxious to see what Apple will bring to the market. The iPad 3 must do some serious shock-and-awe to beat out the new generation of cheap-and-badass tablets. They’ll lost future customers if they can’t deliver as i’m sure many tablet-owner-aspirants are waiting to see what Apple delights will be in the iPad 3

Agreed, there should be a a model with 3G and another without. The 3G one could be sold to telcos or unlocked for customers. No need to limit everyone to WiFi when you can stick a sim in there and get wireless all the time!

Asus has been pretty good about updates and relatively quick. Nvidia has been pretty well on drivers too so I would think updates would work pretty well. Not that I expect “Jellybean” to be all that impressive, likely to mainly be a graphical improvement like froyo-gingerbread.

there will always be developers making ROMS but I agree %150, IT IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT TO WAIT FOR DEVELOPERS TO HELP RATHER THAN MANUFACTURERS!
