Asus has always been good to me in the past for my gaming rigs. Their motherboards were usually some of the best. Lately they have been moving into the notebook arena, and their gaming laptops are looking equally impressive.

Asus C90

Their new C90 gaming notebook is great because you can upgrade a majority of the key components. It has a 15.4-inch screen and is compatible with up to a 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 CPU, 3GB of Ram and a GeForce 8600M GT card. You’ll also get your choice of a DVD drive, HD DVD or Blu-ray.

Bear in mind that this comes as a barebone kit, so when you go to purchase it, the price will look too good to be true. Looks like prices for the barebone are starting at under $1000.
