		<description><![CDATA[astronomers have to justify their jobs somehow.  If they didn&#039;t predict scary things, no one would ever listen to them.  Plus, this is a big opportunity for government funding.  What has an astronomer ever done that was practical or useful?   You get publicity and money, if you predict disasters.  Global warming is a big money maker too.   Scientists are also jealous of all those doomsday preachers.  Scientists have a need for a secular end of the world.  It runs in their veins.]]></description>
