astronomers have to justify their jobs somehow.”…..more like the media, including the author & headline editor of this article are trying to justify theirs jobs.  Even in this article, I can quote “NASA is predicting that the odds of impact will significantly decline as they refine the asteroid’s orbit.”
Headline brings the eyes in, the facts caused the eyelids to close as we become bored and fall asleep.  Bordeom, my friend, is the end to your non-secular world.
