Assassin's Creed Unity: Time Anomaly gets wicked weird

If you thought you'd only be in Paris during the French Revolution in Assassin's Creed: Unity, you'd be wrong. The French Revolution Simulation is collapsing. All of Assassin's Creed is a simulation, after all. You're about to be dropped in a different time entirely. Steampunk? Naw. Dropping in via Mr. Peabody and Sherman? Time travel can only be done that way in real life, of course. Looks like World War 1 atop the Eiffel Tower to us, how about you? Time to make the jump.

What we're expecting with this particular teaser is another DLC, but it would be extra strange if that were to be true. They've already announced the Chemical Revolution DLC. Wouldn't it be strange for Ubisoft to announce two downloadable content packs before the game itself is even released to the public?

One thing is true, we had NO IDEA anything like this time travel business would be happening when we had our most recent preview of Assassin's Creed: Unity.

Below you'll see a teaser image for this Time Anomaly business as well. Several blimps, a big ol V for victory. Is this the future? The retro-future?

Perhaps it's World War II instead? What better way to bring our good friend into the fray than by having him climb the Eiffel Tower during Nazi-occupied France? What a good time that'd be!

Above you'll see another teaser image, and below yet another. What kind of oddity are we getting into here? Is this madness?

UPDATE: From "a French website" via Reddit here are several other screenshots from the game.

Here's a timeline too, if you're curious:
