I first heard about this about seven years ago, in school. Problem back then was that the cells didn’t last a whole lot of time & would disintegrate after some use. I guess now it’s managable.

Not to sound too much like a conspiracy theorist, but how many times over the last 40 years have I heard about remarkable breakthroughs (proven to work and slated to change everything) that are never seen again.

If someone actually does say “Hey, what ever happened to…?” the official brush-off answer is “It didn’t pan out that way.” and then attention is quickly returned to the ‘status quo’ product that has a “brand new paint job” and the average consumer is once again lulled into buying what big business really wants them to.
